Staying in Banff
Let’s start with the obvious. If you are staying in Banff near the city center, it is going to be very expensive.
The hotel is located on the far end of the main strip of hotels. It is easily walkable to the city center and all the tourist trappings of Banff. If you plan on hiking, biking or activities outside of Banff stay elsewhere and save money.
The hotel is nice. The room was small, but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean.
The entire region is beautiful and in the future I will look for less expensive options and still enjoy the region.
Cramped room. They lost our reservation 2 nights in and we were locked out of our room for a while whilst they fixed it. One evening the barman had to leave for a personal emergency and they had to close the bar because they could not find a replacement. Overall, a very amateurish performance. Also, they did not have proper sized pillows on the bed - just cushion sized objects. Most uncomfortable.
We had an amazing stay and the cold plunge was my favourite also the balcony room was nice after a long day to sit outside and look at the beautiful landscape of mountains.
We spent two nights here during our visit to Banff NP. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The hot tubs, sauna, and cold plunge were really nice and definitely helpful after long days of hiking. Breakfast also had plenty of options. The hotel was about a 15 minute walk to the main downtown area. Overall we had a really nice stay here!
The staff were exceptional and professional. We stayed for one night and enjoyed all the ameneties: hot tub, cold plumge, complimentary smores, and breakfast! Our guest service people Anna and Dan were so kind. Ben from the Happy Camper was also welcoming and hospitable. Thank you so much. I will be back!
I loved this place! Great breakfasts included, two jacuzzi tubs, plunge pool and sauna, free smores, great facility and location. Staffsuper friendly. Totally recommend.
we had a wonderful time in Canalta Banff. it was an excellent value compared to all the other properties within that area. although it is a mile walk from downtown Banff, You're not too far away from the shuttle bus stop and if your legs are into it a 1 mile walk isn't that bad. The little touches that can Canalta Banff provided was what made our experience much all the more better. I really enjoyed the s'mores and the hot tub. staff was absolutely top notch.
The front desk staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. Was disappointed to learn most hotels close by offered complimentary bus passes and Canalta does not.The daily breakfast while free, never changed and was mediocre. Biggest issue was housekeeping. Stayed a week and room was often uncleaned. Even on days it was cleaned, bed was only partially made and bathroom barely touched. Being there are so many hotel choices in the area, these reasons would probably lead me to choose another on our next visit.
