We had the best check in experience-the associate was probably the best one we have ever experienced in all of our travels...Lobby was nice and welcoming. Elevator was clean and nice..had a button for floor 3 that did not work properly and needed to be repaired. Our room was ok...bed was comfortable, a couple of holes in the walls that did not go all the way through. furniture was aged-had a small frig, coffee bar. You could hear your neighbors tv so no sound barriers. Breakfast was ok...associate was on her phone most of the time we were there instead of assisting the guests who needed different selections.The only really negative was that we went to bed and someone in the floor above us was vacuuming and woke us up. I wonder if there are people living there as well as paying guests.

The hotel was located in a quiet area away from major noise making highways. Our room had a very strong deodorizer smell so the staff found us a new room that was much better. The ac under the window made sleeping in the bed next to it uncomfortable. Fortunately the room was Spacious and had two queen beds.

This hotel was outdated and overpriced. The pool was inoperable and we were very disappointed because this is why we went with this hotel. The website said indoor pool. When I asked the manager, they said it would be running in "a few days". There were other people complaining about this, too. The hotel was also extremely noisy. We didn't have blankets or sheets for the pull out sofa. Overall, I am terribly disappointed.

Lobby smells damp, but the rooms are fine.
The first thing you'll notice when you walk into the hotel is the smell. I'm thinking it is because of the indoor pool, but the lobby just smelled wet. It wasn't humid, but it smelled damp. The indoor pool isn't far from the reception desk. However, check-in was a breeze, and the staff is friendly. Our room was fine though, and they even had a small dehumidifier running in our room. The beds were fairly comfortable, and our kids enjoyed having the pull out couch to sleep on. The pool was freezing cold though, in my opinion. Our kids enjoyed it, but it was just too cold for me to get in. The hot tub was nice though. The door leading from the pool to the lobby was a little busted though, but I think the staff fixed the problem. For the price of the room, I can't really complain. This hotel is one of the more inexpensive rooms close to downtown Athens, and it's not that bad of a place to stay.

The pictures of this property on Expedia and the Windham website itself are very misleading. This is a very run-down property and nothing about it says “quality”. The biggest problem with the room itself was the wet carpet that gave it a very musty smell. There was a dehumidifier already in the room that did nothing and it appeared that someone had attempted to cover up the smell but this room should not have been rented out in the first place. While we were there, we heard other customers complain that their rooms also had wet carpets. We left the property early but were told by the front desk that we would still have to pay the “two-night minimum” because it was a football weekend in Athens. I cannot emphasize enough how overpriced this hotel is, for what you actually get, and we will never go back there.

Bed was comfortable but the room was dirty. There dirt on the wall ceiling, the remote to the tv looked like it had dirt and food stuck on it. Bathroom snick had yellow spots in it and what looked to be mold or something on the rim of bathtub. I paid extra for late ck out and felt like I was getting pressured to go.

The staff at check in was so friendly and helpful. We knew we would pay more to stay in Athens for the game. With that being said it would not have mattered what we paid as the conditions and smell of room was musty and mold from the leaking ac unit. It’s great they allow pets but there a distinct odor of urine in our room. The beds felt damp from the AC issue and I was really disappointed in the condition of room. I want to express that the front desk employees were so nice but there is really not a thing they could do with the condition of this room. I will stay outside of Athens before I do this again.
