I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn in Normal, Illinois, and I must say my experience was quite disappointing. The main issue during my visit was that both elevators were out of service. This presented a significant challenge, especially as I was traveling with someone who has a disability. Navigating multiple flights of stairs was not only inconvenient but also unsafe and inconsiderate for any guests who may have mobility issues.
In addition to the elevator situation, I noticed that the hotel is in dire need of updating. The decor felt dated, and the rooms lack the modern amenities one would expect from a hotel in this price range. The overall atmosphere seemed worn, which detracted from the comfort and enjoyment of our stay.
While the staff was friendly and tried to be accommodating, service alone can’t rectify the underlying issues. Unfortunately, I left feeling that my stay did not meet the standards typically associated with Hampton Inns. I hope the management addresses these problems, as it could be a great place to stay with a little investment in maintenance and modernization. For now, I cannot recommend this hotel, especially for anyone traveling with accessibility needs.
