Very accommodating personnel, very generous size room, clean and quiet. Large balcony overlooking trees, which we didn't get to use because we only had a short stay, but would probably be a great outdoor relaxing space where you can have a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. Overall, very good stay.

If you are looking for bare basics, this hotel is adequate, but just barely so. It is clearly a facility that has been only partially renovated, but it has a long way to go. The upholstered chairs were frayed and stained, and one of the nightstand was splattered with paint. There was an old, unused TV bracket on the wall, as well as an old, uncovered electronic device that appeared to be unused motion censor. Rusty, old-style fire sprinklers were present. The sink in the kitchenette area needed to be repaired, as it sprayed up as well as down. The bathroom needed paint and still had an old, uncovered phone jack on the wall. The view off of the balcony would have been nice if it had not been for the piece of construction equipment parked out back and the dead plants on the ground below. It seemed like we were the only people staying in the main building, which, in addition to the sketchy neighborhood and odd noises made the whole experience a bit creepy. It seems like the management is trying to improve this hotel, but it has a long, long way to go before it is up to the quality we would expect from hotels.com.

We stayed for 1 night as part of a New England road trip. We were met by the owner on arrival who could not have been more helpful. He suggested a number of places to eat. The room was clean and tidy and included bottles of water, soap etc. The breakfast had many choices and all were fresh. Would stay again

This was not a great experience! First we were put in the Motel part-not acceptable--creepy, awful. Then he put us in the regular part of the hotel--better, but still problems--outdated, hair dryer didn't work, ice machine didn't work. Breakfast---yogurt not on ice just out--not willing to take my chances. Needs a ton of improvements--not worth the money at all.

Hotel feels more like a motel than a hotel, but even though building is older, it has all amenities, except an elevator to get up to a room on the second floor. Had to carry my luggage up the steps, but the owner was kind enough to help if we needed it.

Walking into the lobby is nauseating! There is an OVERWHELMING smell of incense because they are burning it at the check-in desk. It permeates the entire lobby, which is open to the lounge/breakfast area, so that area is affected as well! Thankfully, we had a ground-floor room with a walkout slider so we could avoid the lobby! No way we were taking a chance with the in-house breakfast! The room was fine, but many simple things were missing that I had to go back to the lobby and request, like a working TV(It was unplugged, and the directions for the remote were missing a key step) There were no plastic cups, no tissues in the room, and the fabric chairs at the table were covered in stains and had tears in them. Not a great look!

The room was clean The owner was very friendly in fact he came to our room at 9:30 pm to fix our cable TV I would definitely stay there again if we where up in that area

My husband and I came into town for a wedding and not knowing the area we chose The New World Inn. We were very impressed with the kind, welcoming manner of the owner and how clean and comfortable the place and the beds were. The shower was better than mine at home! We had a nice balcony off our room which we used in the morning and evening. My husband liked the choices of the breakfast. He also loved the freshness of the coffee. I would highly recommend this Inn to anyone staying in the area.

Your filter we used to list only hotels near Barre VT that had pools available. When we arrived at New World Inn we learned that the pool was not available. It was being dug anew and had digging equipment in it, not water !!! The bathroom door had a loud skreech on the last 2 inches, because the hinges were very loud and needed a hammer or something to hit them, or oil them, and the sink had no plug !

Our stay was wonderful. It was clean and the owner is clearly working hard to make improvements and maintain the beautiful grounds. The room was huge, and comfy. We highly recommend staying at New World Inn. We will be coming back for sure!

Room was big but no furniture. Advertised wrong as no pool. Area felt unsafe. Many workers stay there and there are homeless nearby. It would work in a pinch but fine something else if possible

Economical stay. Friendly staff. The breakfast was small continental, just enough to get you started in the morning. Mattress was sagging at the edge, so I slept in the middle. Room was old but clean.
