Across the road from the William Gate, entry point to Dijon’s pedestrianised historic city centre (granted UNESCO World Heritage status in 2020). Therefore a near perfect location. Station is a short walk. We had room number 115 right on the triangular corner, which was light and spacious: not sure which room category it was but well worth it. Valet parking in their car park (15EUR/day extra) is a big plus point (set satnav for 13 Rue Devosge for car park entrance). Good and substantial buffet breakfast. Highly recommended. Only minor gripe was no shower curtain in our room (not missing, just not designed in).
Perfect base for exploring the old town. A beautiful and quiet inward facing room was a welcome haven from the busy street. Bathrooms with showers over bathtubs may present a challenge for the elderly but there are alternatives. The restaurant information directs you to a website where the menu is only provided in French. In all other ways I would recommend.
This is a nice hotel but not a 5 star.
There is really old carpet in the hallways and the carpeting in the bedroom was aging as well and did not feel clean because it was shag carpeting.
Disappointed for the price we paid!
I recommend Grand Hotel La Cloche Dijon for anyone looking to explore the city by foot. It was very easy to walk to the main sites and restaurants in the city. The hotel was also well kept and very clean.
The hotel is in a good location and the staff were great with the exception of the server on the patio. She was downright rude. It seemed that they were understaffed the night that we dined there. I would not recommend the food however the ambiance is lovely. The hotel itself is fabulous.
Some lovely features in the room including view out to the town and bathroom window into the room - location is fantastic, easy to walk around Dijon town centre. Not the best 5 star I’ve stayed in - others in this price range are usually that bit more wow. That said, overall experience was good and I would recommend if you are stopping in Dijon.
Why give you 45 minutes of free spa treatment when you check in, only to find out all treatments are fully booked for the next few days. Very deceiving.
