Regrettably, I must express that my recent experience at this Sleep Inn establishment was truly disheartening. Despite my loyalty to the brand and past positive encounters with their properties elsewhere, this particular stay left much to be desired. In a time of dire need following a water main incident at my residence, I encountered an unexpected policy prohibiting locals within a 50-mile radius from booking a room. Though I was reluctantly permitted to spend the night, I am left pondering the true motives behind this exception. Was it out of genuine concern from the receptionist, or was my inconvenience mitigated by surrendering a portion of my dinner? Despite the outward appearance of cleanliness, I found several issues in my room and with guest services. The musky smell permeated the air, and upon further inspection, I discovered unclean items like the TV remote with a thick crust of grime. The excessive lighting from glowing night lights and the bright gap under the door made it impossible to achieve a dark setting for rest. Additionally, the lack of consideration for noise disturbances from other guests, especially sports teams, led to a sleepless night. Conjoining the hotel's policy of discriminating against locals, lack of discipline for unruly guests respecting other patrons, and lied to the next morning by another staff member about cold coffee, it was the final straw that prompted my early departure.
