And a special shoutout to Ellie this morning for assisting me with extending my stay. Her vibe was amazing, she was incredibly informative, and her epic smile truly brightened my day. Nice spot but you will get ripped off!
We had a great visit and would have planned to return every trip to Charleston but I noticed a very big charge on my cc bill and when I called I was told it was a " Smoking Fee", WHAT?? She said they have these super sensitive sensors that detect smoke, candeles, burned hairspray from a straightener, but they definitely wouldn't pick up the smoke from the corridor or balconies that we could smell from our room during our stay, eye roll.. so we were falsly accused and charged a ludicrous fee of almost double what the room charge was for something we didn't do!!! I will NOT be returning and I would suggest AVOIDING Tides Folley Beach. I'm also shocked that they can do servalence like that without any notification, shady.

Its hard to get to Charleston, no public transport . Take note of this if you are a foreigner, but the local town is very walkable and quaint.There was no breakfast buffet which the booking said they have breakfast. The hotel facilities are good, staff was friendly.

Tides Folly was a lovely stay. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. The location can't be beat! Right on Folly Beach with fabulous views of the Atlantic. Great food, drink and shopping is a short stroll up the main street in front of the hotel.

They were renovating rooms right next to the pool. Theyd drill mid day and you could hear the drilling vibrating in the walls in your room. We moved rooms further away and you could still here it. The construction was right next to the pool so youd hear it at the pool as well. Pros: excellent room cleaning and staff service, pool, beach views from room, great location close to restaurants and restaurants on site, free parking Cons: really dated rooms - very rusted light fixtures & banged up furniture/walls, uncomfortable bed, construction

Amazing staff! Truly could not be better people. The ocean view from every single room is incredible! The rooms are a bit older and well loved, but it doesn’t matter because the accessibility around Folly and staff are top tier. Everything was wonderful!

The entire staff was very nice and the view from the room was wonderful. Our room didn’t have an exhaust fan so the room was extremely humid. Also the water in the shower was luke warm 3 of the 4 showers

The staff were fantastic! The rooms could use some updating however, the bed was comfy and the view was perfect. If you’re a smoker like me, it’s a little inconvenient to have to go down to the lobby and stand in front of the hotel to smoke. I understand not smoking in the room (I don’t smoke inside my home but you are not allowed to smoke in the balcony or in the breezeways. With that being said, everything you need is within walking distance. A plethora of restaurants, shops and even a little corner market that takes 5 minutes to walk to. This is a hotel we would stay at again if we visit in the future
