The hotel is absolutely beautiful. It’s older so expect things to not be renovated but we enjoyed it. The rooms are smaller but we really loved the convenience of the location and the historic feel.

Don't stay here. If you do take your own water and drinks. There are no vending machines. No water dispensers and the shop that sells 7.00 water bottles closes at 9pm. Customer service was horrible. We asked if we could leave our car on the lot until 3pm the day of check out so we could go eat. The staff told us yes and volunteered to store our luggage. We should have followed our first mind and put our luggage in the car. Once we were ready to get our luggage there were no staff to be found. We had to call a service number. They sent a staff person who blew us off. He was told 45 minutes later to help us with our luggage because the bags werent where we were told to initally go. Also the restaurant food there is over priced and horrible.

Not all that impressed.
We stayed for the annual Midwest Band and Orchestra Conference. The hotel was clean, elegant, including the appearance of the suite. However, there were a few issues that made our stay not so pleasant. The room AC was barely functioning. I messaged with guest services who ultimately said we can send maintenance up but it’s an old building. Fortunately the windows did open. To be fair, we were not around when they said they wanted to send someone up and we had the privacy sign on the door which apparently means no one can enter even if the guest tells you they are out of the room. Kudos to that policy. Another issue is with the provided pillows. They are much too small, and much too too thin. The mattress was nice, though. Plenty of outlets. Bathroom was a little on the small side, well you couldn’t open the door without hitting the toilet small. Shower head was leaking, which dripped on the tub and ran off onto the bathroom floor. Guest services seemed eager to please, but when I asked if we could switch rooms, I didn’t even get a no, just didn’t address the request. This is a historic hotel, plenty of dining options and opulence. But maybe it’s time for a serious renovation to address the heating/cooling and awkward size bathroom issues. Overall, not very impressed and ultimately not worth what we spent.

Found out about extra fees at property. Seems a little outdated in the rooms but I did like the two bathrooms. Horrible view from hotel room.
