Crowded cars on the streets, no where to park to even check in, had to park 2 blocks over at MCDOnalds( quite a few homeless people just hanging out on the side walk) and had to walk to checkin. Tried to check in at 4pm. The check in time was 3PM. I was told the room wasn’t ready and had to wait until 5:30 in the lobby until it was done. I had to get a parking pass to be able to park my car under the hotel, which I had to walk back to McDonalds to get. Not a great experience and morning staff was not friendly, breakfast was a normal continental not to bad.

It was fine. Some family members with small children had to wait until after 9:00 pm for a room to become available. That was extremely unfortunate and the only snag on an otherwise pleasant stay. The hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and gracious, the breakfast was great, the parking was convenient, and the room was comfortable.

The property was in a unique area and despite the construction site, we managed to move around. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. We were also accommodated in a timely manner when we checked-in (it took a little longer but it was taken care of promptly). I was surprised by the staff as well on how friendly they are. Moreover, the breakfast was very wholesome. I would recommend this place and maybe use them once more given the opportunity.

Would love to say we loved this hotel but a tablet was stolen from our room. It was buried in a suitcase because we were not going to use the public WiFi. Very disturbing!

First off I wanted to praise Chuck for literally walking us all the way to the Metra station and for being so pleasant and kind!!! He was the most memorable part of our stay. You rock Chuck!!!

I reserved a month before and when I go in to check, they were overbooked whats the point of reserving then I was not accomadating for anything, I even paid $ 40 for parking for nothing and I was never notified about this issue at all to even have time to look for another place to stay at.

We had a lovely one night stay at the Hyatt Chicago South University location. We flew in to visit UChicago and had a nice easy 25 mins walk from the campus to the hotel through a quiet park around 6pm. We enjoyed the gym, the continental breakfast, the TV, tub and the lovely desk staff. We were given room 319, a large suite w couch 2 beds overlooking the side alley. It was clean and quiet until garbage trucks woke us up earlier than we planned. That said we had a discounted rate which was a good deal. I would stay again but next time I would ask if another room was available. It was, but I didn’t ask until check out.

Won’t stay here again
Check-in was late because head maid had to make sure all was well. I had to wait til 4:30. Once in room I had no shampoo. No blanket on bed. I asked front desk first thing in the morning next day and when we got back to room that night nothing was done. I had to go back down and ask again for shampoo and blanket. Room has conditioner and soap only. No lotion, mouthwash, etc. was charged $48 a night for parking I didn’t use. Hoping it gets taken off my card soon. Room is way over priced.
