Because Tenaya Lodge is a rural location guests should call the hotel if they need additional directions or information on how to get to the hotel. During winter months, chains may be necessary, even for four-wheel-drive vehicles.
Bears inhabit this area. Do not leave food or beverages (including water) in vehicles and heed all other warnings issued by the lodge.
Guests driving to the property should be aware of seasonal road closures. Hwy 120 (Tioga Pass) closes October through late June, restricting east-to-west travel across the park. Yosemite's eastern gate and Tuolumne Meadows are not accessible when Tioga Pass is closed. Guests are advised to check local weather and road conditions/closures with the California Department of Transportation before travel.

I like the location (very close to Mariposa Grove entrance). Room is clean and spacious. Restaurant is very crowded because there are other options around the hotel, so we ended up with ordering room service, but food taste very well.

Nice hotel certainly. Yes it's a little pricey, but if you want to commune with nature at Yosemite just a few miles away (45 minutes to the valley floor, 4 minutes to gate), while returning to luxurious accomodations at night, then I guess you will stay here. Parking is very tight if you arrive after 5-6pm. Reservations are needed at the Jackalope restaurant, we tried to get in at 7pm and told it was a 90 minute wait. there's indoor heated pool, and outdoor heated pool, fire pit area, rock climbing wall, and it certainly feels clean. If ever we went again, I would opt for the cabins with the kitchenette and bring our own food. The exterior building doors should have door key security card system, that's not asking too much at this price level. But the service is good, and staff are friendly and helpful. But you can't expect to just drive out and back to a local grocery store, because it's over an hour round trip down the hill to Oakhurst. And you will lose your parking space if you try that. So bring the credit card, and let them have their way with you.

Want an amazing place to stay at. You don’t need to go anywhere. Only issue was check in. 1 poor staff member trying to process all those people. Another member came in 40minutes later. There were people everywhere and cars blocking up valet parking. On line check in works well elsewhere. Awesome place to stay. Dinner was Excellent

Great property. Very clean and well maintained. Easy access to/from Yosemite. However on 10/13/24 it was clear they did not have enough staff to serve every one staying at the facility. They only had one restaurant open on site and wait times were so long most folks were just going to the grab and go for a premade sandwich or a bag of chips. No other restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel. I wouldn’t return just basis the restaurant situation. We went for lunch and the kitchen was unbearably slow (ordered nachoes) despite it not being full.

Front Desk needs help.
We traveled with another couple and arrived early at 2pm. The other couples room was ready and they checked in. We were told we’d get a text and our room would be ready soon. At 330 I checked back and told it still was not ready. We would receive a text. At 530, still no text I checked back and told our room was finally ready.

This beautiful hotel property is nestled in the midst of a pine tree forest just 10 minutes away from the entrance to Yosemite National Park. Very accommodating rooms, attentive staff, and well-kept grounds. Would definitely stay there again.
