Situated approximately ten minutes from the picturesque old city of Colmar, getting to the hotel is relatively easy.
If you are flying in from Basel I recommend you book a Flix bus in advance to take you to Colmar rail station. It doesn’t cost much and only takes an hour. From there you can either walk to the hotel, which will take around twenty five minutes or alternatively look out for one of the small free electric buses that frequently turn up at the station and get off at rue Stanislas. From there it’s just a five minute walk.
We found the staff at the Ibis to be friendly and helpful. We decided against the breakfast option. While it did look pretty good we chose to eat around town instead.
Although our room was small it was very clean and complete with an on- suite shower/toilet and a wall mounted television. We thought the mattress was a bit too hard but as we were only on a weekend break it was just about bearable. Access to the room was via a numbered key pad on the door.
If you arrive early the reception will securely store your bags for you, so you can have a quick look around the town and the check in at the required time later, which is 3pm onwards.
We think for a short break the Ibis Central Ville represents good value for money and would be happy to stay there again should we ever return to Colmar.
