Better than a Motel

Love the elevator, the upstairs open living, dining room and kitchen. With lots of windows and a limited ocean view. Did not like not being able to close all the drapes at night, and the heating system works well downstairs but poorly upstairs. It has a great back yard. I would stay there again some time. We came to watch the last round of king tides at shore acres state park, which is a couple of miles from this rental, too bad the road at Norton Gulch was closed due to flooding.

Minimal obscured ocean view. Elevator only interior access to downstairs so you are isolated from downstairs. No tv upstairs. .

Great location but Stove did not work correctley

The property was in a great location with a great back yard. The stay could have been better if the stove top control numbers could be seen and the burners did not get so hot. It was very hard to cook on. The bath tub diverter did not work and there was no way to plug the water so kids could take a bath. The host was very nice. Hope the stove and tub shower will get fixed so I can give it more stars next time.

Safety issues include: oven was not functioning, shades pulls throughout house were dangling, outdoor railing space was wide- not up to code,switch for downstairs shower was behind the water heater and a unit marked ‘hazardous’, Light above downstairs bathroom sink was two bare bulbs.Outdoor chairs were rubbish, dryer filter was already packed with gunk/lint. I Bedding for pullout was stained, had holes, pillow disgusting…I can provide pictures to substantiate the above if needed

Multi-Generational Family Reunion

The house was well-equipped and provided beautiful views of the ocean through the full windows in the front room. The back yard was stunning! A lush retreat for play and photos. The kitchen is well-equipped with good quality pots and pans -- it had everything that we needed for our stay. The location was great, as well. Far enough from the city to be peaceful and close to the easy trails and spectacular views of Cape Arago. The property manager was responsive to requests and the home was 'generally' clean. Cleaning crew missed old food in dresser drawers (then again, why would anyone keep veggie straws in a dresser??). Though clean towels were hung on the racks, extra towels and linens (for the sofa beds) were disorganized and hard to find; Extra pillows and blankets were on the closet floor; basically looked like things had been thrown into closets and cabinets at the last minute just to get them out of sight. Complimentary toiletries were a nice touch! All in all a fantastic property! (just needs a better trained cleaning crew)

Wonderful coastal home with beautiful yard!

We loved staying in this home! It was perfect for our two families to share! We loved exploring the pathways in the backyard. The elevator was a fun edition and we appreciated all the amenities and extras. We loved sunset beach and it was very close by!

More than we expected

Was a great property to gather the family. The yard was massive had we brought kids with us to play in it. Quiet street, even though house sits next to it. Appreciated the elevator to transport things up & downstairs. Was thankful the power didn't go out during the awful storm we had. Would have been inconvenient taking the outside stairs in the driving rain. Was so surprised at the amount of clamming & crabbing equipment furnished. Even though pots were mentioned, we brought our own cage type, as we don't like open rings. Was very pleased with the rakes, floats, even boots available. Had we been more successful, we'd used the outdoor cooking equipment also. Would certainly rent again!

Holiday Lights and Hiking at Shore Acres

Plenty of room for our extended family of nine in this clean cozy two-story house. We loved the loop hiking trails in the backyard and were even greeted everyday by a mama deer and her two youngsters and even a family of rabbits. The addition of the elevator was a new and unique experience for everyone. Thanks!

Thanksgiving week

Booked this house to spend 5 days with our family. We are local but our adult kids live out of state . We enjoyed the views, the small loop in the back. There is absolutely enough space. I would suggest that the owners Make labels of where things are so it would be easier to find and put back .

We had a great stay! The house was very clean. Plenty of room for all 9 of us to stay comfortably. The house is located close to everything you would want to do. Definitely want to go back soon but this time we will take our boat and probably my parents for their anniversary. Thanks so much for a clean house and very well stocked kitchen.

Great beaches!

Had a great time with family. Easy access to beaches, lots to explore near by. House was nice on a beautiful piece of property. Some family members were having withdrawals from no TV upstairs but it made it a better vacation to unplug and play games. Was perfect place for our family to hangout.

Overall we had a nice stay. We wish we had read all of the reviews to understand that the elevator is the only way to go between floors from the inside. Perhaps that should be a part of the overall description so people don’t have to find that out in the reviews section. There are some minor suggestions that should be reviewed … Somebody needs to check all lightbulbs, the basement shower light bulb is burnt out and I had no way to change it, the shower curtain in the upstairs bathroom is dingy at the bottom and either needs to be cleaned or replaced (and it doesn’t close all the way to prevent water splashing), and the vertical blinds in the basement bedroom … several are missing. If a single woman were to sleep down there it could be a bit unnerving. When people stay at a VRBO, they have no clue if this is a good neighborhood or a shady neighborhood. Thank goodness this was a decent neighborhood outside of town but it connects to a trail , how do we know if someone could just come off the trail and peak in the bedroom? Another point, the owners are sure to let us know when quiet times are and we totally respected that, we’re very quiet people, however it was quite a rude wake up call when the lawn men showed up at 10 AM when we still had a college student sleeping. We agree with the previous comment that stripping the beds isn’t always normal for Vrbo, at least in our experience, nor is it common in a hotel. Not sure why we were asked to do that. Not a big deal, but we don’t work here, we paid to stay here. Overall we enjoyed our visit.
