This was our second visit. Due to circumstances I couldn’t control we were later than planned getting to the area. I was exhausted and didn’t feel safe driving up to the Resort. However, when I called (via Expedia) to try to cancel and obtain a refund, I was reminded that their policy required cancellations by midnight the night before. I couldn’t afford to lose the money and drove on when I probably shouldn’t have. I understand hard lines must be drawn but there is also a place for compassion in business. I gave the review 4 stars because when we were there previously it was beautiful. Probably won’t ever return.

Short but enjoyable visit,
Lovely location with stunning vistas readily available all around. Rooms were sufficient, with bath a little cozier than we prefer. Food was excellent and the included breakfast was delish! Check-in/out was easy and staff was great!

The check in took 3 hrs. No food choice only a dried up buffet. Room leaked and smelled. Toilet not connected to the floor. Reservation was not in system by Expedia

Was a unique place to stay and convenient to the falls. Though we could of spent less and had a nicer room else where. Carpet was stained and ceiling in bathroom was peeling and looked moldy.

This is a classic lodge in a beautiful setting. The rooms are a little dated but for the price point, they were actually really a great value. I stayed in the lodge with a convenient dining room and a beautiful view of the Cumberland River from a large patio. If you want beauty, peace and quiet- stay here. There is great hiking all around with trailheads by the lodge. I had a great time here.

The lodge rooms are ancient. A total remodel is sorely needed. Our bed was horribly worn out. A fitful night trying to sleep. Couldn’t wait to leave in the morning.

Go for the view and the hike
The public spaces are comfortable with plenty of seating and games to pass the time. Outside patio is beautiful with a view over the tree tops into the gorge and the river. The rooms are ok. AC units are noisy, we had to request a room change. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash are all liquid and in dispensers in the shower. No soap or hand cream otherwise. Plenty of hot water. The room and bathroom were perfectly clean. They windows opened which isn't something you find everywhere. The rugs and furnishings are dated. It's an old building that could use a little TLC. Example the fire suppression water lines are run external and 'hidden' behind an casing. The meals provided are ok at best. The continental breakfast is meager-cold sugary cereal, unlabeled yogurt, bagels and bread for a toasting, some fruit, coffee in Styrofoam cups. If you want hot anything you have to pay extra. Wifi wasn't working. Staff had trouble entering an order for hot breakfast to the kitchen and to check people out.

Loved the resort. Worst breakfast buffet I have ever experienced. Other than that, loved the stay. Staff super nice. Stayed in woodland cabin and was very nice.
