The location was quick and easy to access the gondola ride and to see the visitor center, which has quite a bit of information as well as Gollum‘s pool know as Tawhai waterfall

Its been renovated but the outside is dirty

Excellent facilities. Very nice staffs. Great location for starting hiking in the national park.

Good place to stay, recommend

This is a lovely old hotel and the decor reflects that - full of charm and character. However, the age of the hotel means that the ensuites are a later addition and so are very small and basic. The room was clean and comfortable but the hall could have done with some vacuuming and the sliding door to the ensuite had come off its runners.
