We chose the Marlin because it promoted "early check-in," with the option to pay extra to arrive as early as 11 a.m. We also booked the discount breakfast in advance so we could kill time from our arrival at 10 a m. until early check-in. We received email confirmations of our request for both weeks in advance. Of course, we were disappointed when neither was actually possible. Fortunately, the hotel stored our luggage so we could see the sites (on no sleep). We checked in at 4 p.m. and had the very good English breakfast buffet our second day. Outside of this inconvenience, the Marlin was a very fine place to stay. We enjoyed the lobby with plenty of comfortable seating arrangements. We slept well, the bed was quite comfortable and the shades, dark. One more weird thing: it seemed the coffee cups and spoon in the room had been used and we're sticky. But everything else was clean and neat. The location was excellent.

Enjoyed our 3 day stay at this business-friendly, trendy hotel that's got the requisite amenities plus a convenient walking location, to include major brand car rental pick-up just across the street. Our upgraded room was adequate for space and easily met our cleanliness standards. The staff were helpful, friendly and competent, as expected. Nothing but positives to mention overall.

The first day we checked in we were told the parking rate in a parking garage in front was $15 per day, which ended up being $30 a day. When we arrived to the floor, the whole 6 floor smelled like urine, so so strong, it was unbearable. The room itself was clean and smelled good. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fabulous Stay at Marlin Hotel Stephens Green We stayed at the Marlin Hotel Stephens Green in Dublin for six days, and it was absolutely fabulous. The location couldn’t be better—everything was walkable, from shopping at Dunnes and the main shopping streets south of the Liffey to countless restaurants, pubs, and sightseeing spots. The hotel is also conveniently close to several hop-on hop-off bus stops, which made exploring the city incredibly easy. The hotel itself was spotless, modern, and very quiet—perfect for relaxing after a full day out. The restaurant and bar on the main floor were excellent, and we enjoyed spending time there. From the start, the service stood out. When we checked in, we were welcomed by Wolfe, who was outstanding—friendly, helpful, and full of great recommendations for our trip. We also appreciated the hotel’s early check-in option (for a small fee), which made our arrival day so much smoother. Alternatively, they happily store your bags if you’d prefer to start exploring right away. One feature we especially liked was that the hotel has air conditioning, which many Dublin hotels do not. The only note here is that the AC is controlled through the front desk, so if you want it adjusted (especially at night), you’ll need to call down. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Between the ideal location, cleanliness, modern comfort, and wonderful staff, the Marlin Hotel Stephens Green made our Dublin trip unforgettable. Highly r

This hotel has SO MUCH potential, but it just doesn't live up to it! The check-in is via an automated machine, not a friendly staff member. The lobby area is very fancy and smart, but smells of cigarette smoke as people are permitted to smoke just outside the front doors. We had a 'cosy King' room, and we were expecting small. We had also seen photos, and were prepared for there to be no space around the bed. However, we were not prepared for a room that has no reading lights (lighting is either ON or OFF), nor were we prepared to have get up in the middle of the night to switch the aircon back on because 'to save energy' it goes off at 11pm and 5am, leaving the room stuffy and hot. We were not expecting to have three coathangers as the only storage for clothes, nor were we expecting to be unable to shower most mornings as there was no hot water. There were no sockets by the bed (and only two in total for the whole room) so charging phones etc was tricky. Soundproofing was poor, and the automated blinds 'clicked' all night, so we were either woken by banging doors along the corridor, or by the blinds. On Saturday morning, we were woken by the maid knocking at 8am despite our 'do not disturb' sign being on. Overall, this is NOT a good hotel. It could be - and it should be - but it's not.

Hotel was pretty standard. There was a lot of confusion around early check in/ late check out process which was really frustrating and when we came back from shopping our keys no longer worked. Other than that totally fine but the poor organization with check-in/ check out wasn’t great.
