Starting on a positive note. The staff here were outstanding, they held our luggage prior to arrival & had a friendly demeanor. With that said..we booked the standard room. I noticed right away the duvet cover was covered in stains! Our rooms telephone did not work nor did the television. I went to the front desk kindly asking for a new comforter and she was a doll about it. Very apologetic / shocked. Shortly after housekeeping came to our door w/ a sheet. My husband was napping w/o the cover of course, so I answer the door quietly w/ the lights dem. The housekeeper did not speak the best English so when I tried communicating we needed a comforter she completely entered our room and went to look at what I was referring to! She had good intentions but I would have appreciated her using more social cues. The second time she came to the door with the correct item she was extremely loud (lights dem, husband still napping might I add). I just asked her to hand the duvet to me so I can replace it myself. Other than the duvet cover, tv and telephone issues. I enjoyed this stay. Very walkable to everything within my itinerary. Aesthetically pleasing facility had me fall in love with this kind friendly city! Oh I did ask them for a birthday plate to be placed in our room probably a week prior to arrival & that was forgotten but they made this right and added it night two :/ If you booked the standard room and your expecting a small room think even smaller! We made it work though.

Everything was great except two things. 20 euros to use the washer and dryer is unjustifiable. It is way out of whack with its cost. Seemed like price gouging. The rooms were really small. The shower was almost to the point i couldn't use it. The amount of water that ended up on the floor regardless of what we did was outrageous and created a slip and fall situation every time it was used. Also who puts a non roll away chair at a desk?

This is a fantastic hotel. Great location. Short walk to St Stephens Green. The executive room was a great size and very clean and comfortable. Lovely breakfast. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Room downgrades.

Unfortunately our stay was marred by the failure to provide the room type we had booked and paid for. Our daughter and husband found themselves in an accessible room instead of the Executive King they had booked. My husband and I were placed in a tiny room with a queen bed despite having booked a Superior King. It took us till midway thru our stay to get the room situation. resolved. Otherwise this is a well located pleasant hotel with a great breakfast.

The Marlin hotel is tucked in on a small street. The accommodations were unique. The downside was that the fire alarms when off one night due to an issue in one of the rooms. I did learn don’t question the alarm but evacuate.
