A nice hotel in a good location for both the new and old parts of Edinburgh. We had a large room, lots of space, including a seating area. However, the bathroom was on the small scale condering the size of the room. Nevertheless, it was fine with a good shower. While it was good, it could be great. It has a fantastic art deco style bar which they could make better use of. Also while most of the staff were good, some could do with smarting themselves up and smiling a bit. The area behind the bar was scruffy and needed a tidy up (bits of paper on the floor). Leaving packs bottled water on the bar, rather than storing them under the bar, being one example of staff not thinking how that looks. In summary maybe a bit of staff training on personal presentation (dress and non-verbal behaviour eg smiling), taking pride in there working environment (keeping it clear and tidy) would make for a all round better customer experience. shower.

The staff was very nice and accommodating. They brought us some extra tea and coffee when we ran out, had our room ready ahead of time and accommodated a late checkout request without issue. The property is nice and extremely convenient to the royal mile and train stops at Waverley station as well as the St Andrews Park tram.

It’s a beautiful hotel in every way. However, the carpet throughout the hotel needed to be cleaned which I suppose was a challenge during the very rainy weather Edinburgh was experiencing.

The best location for traveling to Edinburgh as its walking distance to everything. The rooms were beautiful and the bed very comfortable. Would recommend this hotel to all.

Hotel is beautiful. Location is perfect. Comfortable bed. The refrigerator in our room was said to be more of a cooler than refrigerator however everything in it was warm. Not cool in the least. Asked for it to be checked 3 times but nothing improved. Everything else, however, was very nice. The food in the restaurant in the hotel was delicious. Staff were very pleasant. I would stay here again just for the location.

Great hotel. Pricy but the rooms were spacious and very nice. Lots of construction going on in the area but in an old town that obviously happens. We did not hear anything construction noise from our room.

Great Location

The room was very nice. Breakfast was Ok. Lots of construction in and around the hotel. The best thing the hotel offers is its location which is wonderful. You can walk to train station. Maybe 30 meters.

The room was beautiful until you looked closer. It was absolutely filthy. I walked in the front door of the hotel and the door opposite had beautiful moulding. Unfortunately it was so covered with dust the top was an entirely different colour. When we got to our room it was the same. I picked up the throw blanket at the foot of our bed to find a long black hair and lots of questionable bits on our lovely white duvet. The carpet was the worst. I couldn’t walk on it without slippers or shoes. Disgusting.
