The original owners of this home in the 1960s were inspired by Japanese art, and worked to convey similar themes in this lovely home. In the late 90s, it was refurbished with every detail considered. Lovely details like a wood stove, a desk workspace, and an ocean view bring harmony to the entire space. Feel free to leave your shoes in the mudroom, and enjoy cooking meals together in the fully equipped kitchen. Outside of this A-frame, you'll find a serene garden that leads to the front door. Enjoy a soak in the a large, built-in, private hot tub overlooking the distant ocean through the trees on the multi-level deck.

Perfect honeymoon getaway
We stayed at this beautiful Japanese-inspired cabin for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. The location felt private and safe, with stunning landscaping that made arriving feel like a dream. Inside, everything was spotless and had essentials we needed, like a washer and dryer. The three beds are great, though the thin doors mean privacy might be limited for groups. The spacious shower with an overhead spray was fantastic, and being able to step right from the shower into the hot tub was perfect. Sitting in the hot tub under the stars with the ocean breeze is a memory we’ll cherish. Though we only stayed two nights, we’d love to come back for a longer visit—it’s the ideal spot to unwind and connect with nature. Just a couple of minor things could elevate the experience: the stereo system needed an updated adapter, and the kitchen could benefit from a more curated tea selection, maybe with some local honey and Japanese touches like chopsticks and authentic tea. The bathroom was great but could use lotion, and the small shower head wasn’t working. Overall, this cabin has an incredible vibe, both inside and out, and we’d highly recommend it.

We stayed at this property 10 years ago for our honeymoon, and after finding it on Vrbo, decided to return for our anniversary! It was just as we remembered - beautiful views, detailed craftsmanship, and lots of space to spread out! We used it as a home base to explore the Redwoods and the charming town of Trinidad.

My husband, children and I recently stayed here during my sister’s elopement. The property was gorgeous- everything from the home itself to the gardens and view was absolutely stunning. We truly enjoyed the space! It would work for a variety of different travelers and was set up with everything we could possibly think of. The only downside I can think of was that the drain in the shower on the first floor was very slow and kept backing up. It made it hard to enjoy that particular aspect of the home. However with viable alternatives available and sooo many other wonderful features, it truly was not a big deal. Our stay was very enjoyable and if we ever find ourselves in the area again we would gladly book another stay at this property!

Well I have to mention the unfortunate uncontrollable issue at check in. Our house had no power. I have to mention it to praise the vacasa staff as they were super responsive and got us into an alternate property for the night, resolved the issue and had us back in the property before noon the next day. This property is absolutely stunning. My wife and 2 boys loved it! So cozy and relaxing. The pictures say it all but it’s even better in person. I would highly recommend this property and hope to be back at some point myself.

Beautiful home in an established neighborhood with houses on huge lots. Can't even see your neighbor. Views of the Pacific from the deck are so calming View of the stars at night from the deck are stunning! I even saw a shooting star! The house was clean with a beyond well equipped kitchen. The dishes are of good quality so you don't feel like you are roughing it. Bedding is also a step up and the beds are comfortable. The house was clean. The couch is not dirty at all as mentioned in a previous post; it is just comfortable and well sat upon,It was so nice having a firepit on the deck as well as the hot tub. It would be nice if the hot tub cover opened a little closer to the house so that the view isn't of the hot tub cover but of the wonderful trees. I f I had to choose something to pick at it would be the toilet paper and paper towel holders. The minute you touch the toilet paper/paper towel it falls out. Suffice is to say, the toilet paper stayed perched on the counter. Would recommend this home.

Magical stay at Redwood paradise
Everything about this property was perfect. The home and view are nothing short of stunning. Our family loved eating on the deck, hiking in the Redwoods parks, relaxing in the hot tub and sharing stories around the fire pit. The property manager was responsive and communications were timely and thorough. We would absolutely stay again. Had Heqdies one night for dinner and lighthouse grill for another. Both were good. Murphy's has everything you need for food and supplies. A hike at Trinidad Head was lovely. Amazing family trip we will always remember.

North Cali adventure
We loved staying in this beautiful A-frame in Trinidad. The property was stunning with attention to detail throughout. We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary exploring the Redwoods, and the location of this house couldn’t have been better. We took day-trips to several of the surrounding towns, but were also happy spending the day at the house as well. Each space in the home drew you in to relax, unwind, and enjoy nature. The kitchen had everything you would need. There were comfy pillows and blankets always within reach. The gardens were impressive and we couldn’t believe the size of the property, and how well every part of it was groomed. The view from the back deck was breathtaking. The ocean view was more impressive in person than the listing’s pictures implied. Overall it was fantastic and we would count ourselves very lucky to stay here again one day. We couldn’t have found a better slice of heaven to celebrate our anniversary!!! Thank you for sharing your property!

Spectacular home with oceanview!
Oceanview! This home is amazing. The wall of windows and deck are pefect for ocean and sunset views. The property is beautifully landscaped and tranquil. Master bath has slate tiles and rain head shower. This home is a unique stay with the Asian inspired decor. It is in a great location close to town, beaches and hiking in the redwood narional and state parks.

We loved this house!! It's the perfect size for a couple or small family. We'd worried a bit about the location as it appeared to be in a neighborhood and situated very close to 101, but while true, the whole property is very private and quiet. The place is a 5 minute drive to town which had some great, easy spots for food, and about 20-30 minutes to the redwood parks (north) and Arcata (south). Beautiful beaches also very close (Moonstone and Agate were our favorites). Basically, ideal. We hope to be back again soon!

Peaceful getaway
We absolutely loved our 4 nights at this house. We felt relaxed as soon as we got there. The grounds were amazing and the house was unique and felt special. We especially loved the hot tub and the view from the deck. Visitors should know there are some quirks with this house: the lighting is weird (dark) and it can be hard to see what you are doing in the kitchen. Some of the furniture and appliances feel a bit dated. I tried to contact Vacassa through the message part of vrbo’s app and didn’t receive a response. Also, the internet didn’t work on our last day there and we couldn’t reach anyone about it because we also didn’t have cell service at the house. Despite all of that, we loved our time there and would happily return.
