Hotel is old, a bit rundown and the area is sketchy at best. The lady who checked me in was pleasant and friendly. The room I was given had not been cleaned and I was moved to another. The walls are paper thin and when a door shut hard the tv shook. I am traveling with a pet and there isn’t an area to take your dog for relief even though the up charge is $35 dollars. This has not been a pleasant experience.

Pleasantly surprised
I wasn't sure about this hotel but there weren't a lot of options that were pet friendly. It is a bit older and small but it was clean - service was exceptional. The breakfast was good as well. It was right across the street from the Marriot and half the price - also felt safe. I would definitely reccomend.

Not very clean. Friendly staff though.
I have been on the road for 10 days, staying in a variety of hotels and houses, and this one was by far the most expensive, and unfortunately the least clean. The shower and sink were dirty, the floor was dirty, and the sheets were stained. The thing that bothered me the most, (and this may not affect everyone) was that the thick curtains are only decorative, and cannot be drawn closed. I am used to sleeping in near total darkness, and the city lights outside the windows kept me up most of the night, resulting in the worst sleep I've had on the trip. The only saving grace is that the staff was extremely friendly, so that was nice. Every other place I've been to on this trip has been wonderful, and I've rated them well, but my friend and i agreed this hotel was rather disappointing.

Receptionist should recognize that "Carroll" (2 r's, 2 l's) is ordinarily a man's name, although uncommon. The salsa on the breakfast bar was outstanding.
