This was a really great and unique stay. My husband and I are travelling across Europe for the first time, so it was our first time in Italy. We absolutely loved the resort. It was the best part of our trip to Italy by far. The glamping tent was amazing. Very comfortable, clean, and a good price. The on-site market, bar, and restaurant were reasonably priced and made things comfortable within the resort.
However, and I cannot emphasize this enough, the Florence transit system is probably the worst in the world. You *need* a car if you want to get into the city of Florence. The busses are often early, late, or not running at all. The bus drivers sometimes don’t let you off on your stop. There is no taxi service - they will not pick you up nor let you book ahead. There are no Ubers. Beware of the bike lines as drivers are aggressive and will not stop if you have a green light in the bike line. And biking on narrow cobblestone streets through crowds of people is not for the faint of heart.
I would have stayed on the resort for my entire stay in hindsight, as the struggle of dealing with Florence transit ruined my view of Italy forever. There is a shuttle to and from the city, but the drop off point was very far from the things we wanted to do. It could make things easier if you are going to the area it wants you to go.
