We have stayed at this property 2-3 times a year for several years because of its great location and staff when we visit family in Charleston, and was thrilled when we found out they take pets since we recently got a dog. However, we did not realize there was an extra cost involved until we checked in. We got a really good deal on the room due to it being Christmas and the renovations (which are needed), but did not expect the pet fee to be almost as much as the room. The property said Expedia should have told us, but I called the property before our visit to make sure we could get a room on the first floor because of the dog, and nothing was said about it then either. I would typically give a better review but this visit review is based on how the check-in representative handled my questions about the pet fee and there were no trash cans in the room. Hopefully things will get back to normal once the renovations are completed.
