Firstly, I have to say we had a great stay in the Grand Canyon. Yavapai was a comfortable stay, but it definitely had its quirks. I didn’t realize this prior, but the rooms where we stayed do not have WIFI, it’s only at the lodge. Our room was nice and quiet, beautiful stars in the sky at night. The room itself was comfortable, updated on the surface, but still very dated in the bathroom and the floors and walls were very dirty. My crawling baby had black knees from the carpet. It was visibly stained and dirty. The caulking was peeling from the floors and tub in the bathroom. The thermostat in the room was either an icicle or the gates of hell - no happy medium. The beds were very soft - if you need support, these aren’t it. The staff was amazing though and the lodge is beautiful. It’s a great staging ground for hiking the canyon and we had a ton of fun. The lodge food is basic cafeteria but still a good bite after a day in the canyon. I can’t say enough how great the staff was. Overall it was a good stay in a mediocre and questionably clean room.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a Starbucks and a restaurant in the lodge, although we didn't eat in the restaurant because my vegan daughter didn't like the food options. The room was clean and comfortable, had a fridge but no microwave. However, there is a microwave in the lodge for guests to use. We felt that we didn't need more than 2 full days at the Grand Canyon to see and experience everything. We did a sunrise hike on the Bright Angel Trail to the campground and back on our first day and made all the tourist stops from end to end on our second day. We also got great photos of sunrises and sunsets. The lodge is a great location to see everything the Grand Canyon has to offer. We plan to stay there again for our next visit.

I would say this property would be more accurately described as a motel. The bathrooms need updating, but the beds were comfortable. You have to drive from the main lodge where you check in to the rooms which was slightly inconvenient with our small children as we had to drive back and forth to eat, check in, and check out. Great access to the Grand Canyon with the main parking lot for shuttles only a 2-3 minutes drive away. No wifi in the rooms. Rooms do not have a microwave or kettle. All staff we interacted with was kind and helpful. Overall would recommend for a short stay as convenience was great!
