Lovely, pretty and toney hotel with a spacious comfortable room. Service is friendly and very efficient. Nice expansive grounds. But dining options in this large hotel are limited and there is that annoying resort fee tacked on the daily bill. Dining options in town are also not very expansive.

The Salamander is incredible in every way! The staff was beyond excellent in planning my girlfriend’s birthday weekend. They went above and beyond in making the weekend unforgettable. 5 stars doesn’t do them justice. I HIGHLY recommend the Salamander!

Beautiful architecture and design, well-appointed. Enjoyed our stay but things were very overpriced (60-minute couple’s massage was $590 with mandatory service fee/tip; $6 per 8 ounce pour of Diet Coke at the spa pool), and some things could use updating (missing tiles on jacuzzi in women’s spa).

This is a beautiful resort. The room was well appointed and very clean. The staff was friendly. Loved that you could have a car take you and pick you up to other venues in the Middleburg area.
