Within 200yds of Beach, renters will have the pleasure of staying in a Beautiful Home. Daufuskie Island is unique in that it does not have a bridge. Visitors, renters and owners travel from Hilton Head or from Savannah by Ferry (45 mins.) to the Island. One of the best things that we have to offer is our on island manager, Karla. She will help you with everything before and during your stay. We will help you with the Logistics.
There is something about a charming beach cottage that is absolutely irresistible, don't you think? The stunning hydrangea blue siding, white trim, nautical touch décor, and windows that let in the sound of crashing waves, what's not to love?
This comfortable cottage is endearingly named "Beach Haven". We think everyone should have a "haven", so why not one on the beach. From the moment you step inside, you'll be swept right off your feet.
At just 1600sf this adorable seaside getaway is located on the charming island of Daufuskie, South Carolina. As you enter the front door you will quickly see that the "open living" floor plan makes this cottage feel much larger than it really is. (Please see the pictures.)
But wait until you open the French doors and take a look at the 12'X 30' screened-in back porch. It is not only decorated with wicker furniture, and a marble top wrought iron table, but there is a very unique walnut swing bed. Of course, on the back landing is a gas outdoor grill. This spacious back porch is nestled in a grove of live oak trees, dripping with Spanish moss. It gives you a tree house feeling and it overlooks the 6th green and the 7th tee of the Bloody Point golf course.
The upstairs is totally devoted to the master bedroom and master bathroom. It has a sitting area and a walk-in closet to make you comfortable.
Under the house you will find another deck for your pleasure. There is an outside shower with a place to wash the sand off and two bikes, beach chairs, boggie boards, skim boards, beach games and toys, all for your use.
Because of liability issues we cannot allow you to use our golf carts. So, we suggest you rent a golf cart for your stay on Daufuskie. We can help you arrange this and it will be delivered and waiting for you. Also, we will help you with the logistics of the Ferry trip to and from Daufuskie and any other transportation needs. Part of the adventure and uniqueness of Daufuskie is getting there and then exploring the Island in a golf cart. What fun!!
Since the beach is just 200 yards from Beach Haven, it is just a short golf cart ride, or bike ride, or a short walk. This is great for early birds to take in a stroll on the beach before the rest of the house awakes or the convenience of running back to the house to get something you forgot, or the bathroom, or maybe fix a beach lunch.
Also, within walking distance in the opposite direction from the beach is the historic Bloody Point Lighthouse. It has a gift shop for unique and special gifts, food items, and wine! There is a video room which features a short historic video about Daufuskie and the Lighthouse. Outside is a very interesting garden area with horticulture examples of the Island's Plantation farming history. And, a viewing area to look at 3 bald eagle nest. Beach Haven is within 500 yards of five nest and eagles and other birds are wonderful for bird watching.
Our guest book will give you all the details of places to go, eat, see, and do. You can be as busy as you wish or as relaxed and rested as you want. Just sit back, relax and enjoy this fabulous adventure on Daufuskie Island.
The sleeping arrangements are as follows:
Upstairs is completely devoted to a master suite. A full size bed is in front of Easterly facing windows, giving you a view of the ocean and spectacular sunrises without getting out of bed. And, the master bath is stunning. Downstairs is a full bathroom and a den/second bedroom with a queen size Murphy bed. It's brand new and very comfortable. Also, there is a queen size sofa bed in the living room. Even though it appears that this cottage sleeps quite a few, we recommend 4 guests. However, we will be happy to entertain your request for more guest. Just message us.
I left out that we have fiber optics high speed wifi. And, our TV is a smart TV.

Island Paradise
Daufuski Island was everything we were looking for and more.The house was beautiful. We encountered several rainstorms during our visit but the back screened in porch was a great place to listen to the rain and passing storm. We loved not having to fight traffic and spent lazy afternoons exploring the island. There are few places to eat but they were all great. The host and contact were great and provided so much information. The house is a true treasure.

What a wonderful place to stay and relax! At 10am we were the only people on the beach! We were able to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. The house was beautiful. We enjoyed the art and books. If you have never been to the island, make sure plan ahead and enjoy. We hope to come back soon!

The house was beautiful! Stayed with wife, adult son and 10yr daughter. Wife and I slept upstairs, kids on Murphy bed and pull out sofa. Very well stocked. Everything available was free game, condiments, spices etc. Had plenty tp and paper towels. Location is best on the island! Private beach at the end of the street with us being the only ones on the beach 90% of the time. 12min golf cart ride from County Dock and about 20 from Freeport. Plenty of small eateries near the condo including Fryes Corner, Island Shack, D’Fuskie’s at county dock and Silver Dew Winery was just around the corner. Can’t wait to come back! Oh, and Karla the property manager was great! Always available. Thank you for opening your home to us.

What a wonderful house to relax! The house was as described and was very clean and organized. We loved the tasteful art and decor in the house. Plenty of room to relax on the main with oversized couch and other comfy chairs. Our group attended a friend’s wedding and all that stayed with us really enjoyed the house and surrounding property. Daufuskie is such a great place and this property is a great base for exploring the island.

We came for the half marathon (and very cold weather!) The house is delightful, exactly as described and, with a rented golf cart, we went all over the island. Both the owners and Karla the property manager were extremely helpful. We were given detailed instructions and lots of great suggestions. Karla was very quick to respond to all my questions. Wonderful experience... hope to return soon.

20th Wedding Anniversary Getaway...

Absolute gem
This property is incredible. It's so quiet, there is nature surrounding everything and it'slovely to hear the ocean at all times. The deer are so beautiful and are seen every dawn/dusk out front. There are no neighbors within 100 yards, this property exceeded our expectations! We would've booked all 6 nights had we known, my wife agrees as well! just what we needed - peaceful, private and family time
The pictures show off this house perfectly. The downstairs was magical. A perfect space to relax, play games, watch movies, read books, cook and enjoy each other. We took advantage of the screened in porch even when it was hot - the fans really helped. We took our golf cart to the beach and walked (so private). We were there at sunset one night - and just before the other. We were only there for 2 nights, but it felt like more....just right. Love that you have a bathtub - loved my epsom salt baths each night. Thank you for all the eye candy :) Treasures even in the tree outside.

This is our first time using any of the short term rental sites, and we were a little hesitant about the process. BUT. Let me tell you about this wonderful home, and the amazing people who are listing it! From the day that I booked for our vacation, we've had a line of communication open with the on island rep for this home. She's so sweet, and recommended ferries to book and companies to get carts from to scoot around the island. The home itself? Immaculate. So beautiful and clean, it felt like visiting a family member's home instead of something booked online. We used to stay exclusively in nicer hotels on vacation, but this is BETTER. Bathrooms were stocked up with all the essentials, the kitchen had all your basics covered, and good grief. This house is gorgeous. I LOVE this home. There was a full binder worth of info about the island, including some how-to, menus for the island's restaurants, and a map with the route to the beach. There's no central AC in the home, but the mini splits kept everything nice and cool for when you came back from your adventures. Daufuskie Island has cemented itself in both of our hearts, to the point that we were looking on Zillow the first night of our trip. To the owners: You have made such a beautiful and loving space in an amazingly gorgeous island. I hope every day you spend in your home is just as wonderful as the brief two (just two!! Sad day on leaving) nights that we got to enjoy.

Lovely Beach House
This was a rare case where the house actually looked better than the pictures. We were all enchanted by the house and its charms. There wasn't a bad angle to be found. The porch was my favorite. The animal sounds, the hoots of happy golf-carters, and the insect hum made for a cozy feeling. We hope to return to the island one day.

We read somewhere that Daufuskie Island is not your typical beach vacation. This is true and we are so pleased that it is true. You do need to come prepared with food and beverages of your choice, but that is part of the adventure. The ferry ride, the gulf carts, the quiet. It all makes for a truly wonderful, relaxing vacation. We loved getting in our golf cart, tooling along the roads as we dodged pot holes and waved to the two or three carts we saw on the road. Some roads are paved. Some dirt. All part of the adventure. All were very quiet. Really. The quiet of only gulf carts and no cars or trucks except for a few working vehicles was fun, different, and emphasized how loud the world off the island can be. Picture a quiet secluded beach house with screened in southern style back porch set among tress and hanging moss. Just beyond is the beach. And trust us, the beach is fabulous. and About a mile and a half of wide walking beach with almost no one on it. Also a great beach for children. Once in a while we would see one or two people. One morning there were two couples walking. We decided the beach was crowded. The house itself is great. The pictures are are true to life. We were only two and it was perfect. But there is another bedroom and full bath downstairs. And, of course, the fabulous back porch. Karla, the house manager, was wonderful.. She was on top of everything and made it all easy. If you are looking for a bit of an adventure, some quiet, a beautiful beach, and great house with some style, this is perfect.

We enjoyed our stay on the island and in Beach Haven so much! The house is so comfortable and cozy. It is a perfect place to read and relax. The house manager was very responsive when I had questions. We had everything that we needed. The sunrises were amazing. You can see them so well from upstairs or take a short walk down to the beach. The only downfall was that we didn’t have enough time on the island!

Off-season getaway
We found the location to be remote--not close to neighbors or services. A local islander led us from the ferry to the address through winding, potholed roads, and we arrived safely. But I sure wouldn't want to do that in the dark! Otherwise, we enjoyed the island, the cabin was comfortable, local mgr and islanders very friendly. Had a great time and appreciated not having to deal with the BUGS.
