Biking in Constance area. Was 15 min bus ride from Stein an Rhein bahnhof.
We liked the hotel and restaurant service very much. The only problem is the WiFi is spotty. It was not available in our room. Only the dining room and then it kicked us out continually. We looked eifi and we’re disappointed

Disliked: Room comfort
Location worse
Adjacent to the hotel there is a church bell ringing all night non-stop
Breakfast is sparse
For eggs have to pay extra cost
Good room and friendly service. The room was reasonably priced and the breakfast was good. I would use the hotel again when in the area.
However, a meal in the restaurant is expensive, not so much for food prices but mineral water and wine are overpriced.
The hotel is far from the nearest city, which is about 30 minutes away. However, the place is very peaceful and quiet. Stein am Rhein is nearby. A nice little town along the Rhein river.
The staff was pleasant and personable. Our complaint is with how our room was advertised online. We booked ahead of time expecting three things. Free Wifi in our room, free parking, and for our room to look like the room we booked online. In the end parking was free just as advertised but the free Wifi only worked in their lobby not in your room and our room was not anywhere near as advertised. We asked to cancel our reservation because we were not happy. We were told that we would have to pay 100% of the first night and 80% of the second. Just a very poor experience overall.

Good for a short stay
Good hotel overall, a bit out of the way from anything though. We don't have any complaints, just maybe that the hotel was a bit dated. Overall, good value for money and nice friendly service. FYI - the WiFi connection is only good by the reception, and you don't get a signal in the room
We stopped just one night at the hotel which is in a small village and we found it tricky to find despite the SAT NAV. In fact we crossed back into Germany from Switzerland to the amusement of the border police who asked how long we had spent in Switzerland to receive the reply about half an hour. Once there, it is lovely with a car park in the garden and the chance to eat outside in good weather. Speaking no German, we struggled at first but soon the staff made us laugh by miming to make sure we had all we needed. The owners speak fluent English so there was no real problem. This hotel celebrates cycling and is an excellent base for those cycling around Switzerland. The walls feature cycling pictures and memorabilia. We did worry that being next to the church would be annoying particularly on the Sunday morning, but in fact it was no concern at all. The room was spacious and reached via very creaky stairs as this is a traditional Swiss style hotel. Best of all was the meal served by the family which used fresh local ingredients and was beautifully prepared. The local wine was delicious too.
Nice place--clean and quiet. Location is in a very old small town. We stopped here and pushed on the next day to the Rhein Falls--about 45 minutes away. The only cons: internet is free for only 15 minutes and while the hotel restaurant is very good--it's expensive even by European standards. Be advised there are only two other places to eat nearby--and neither appeared to be open.
Really nice place with friendly and helpful staff. Our room at the back of the hotel was great for a youngish family and was generally quiet. The church bells ring automatically but do stop between 10pm and 7am. Our 11 and 9 year olds loved the breakfasts in particular and the fact that they were welcomed in the bar in the evenings.
A traditional hotel that has been well kept up. The welcome is very warm. Meals are well prepared and served, with starter and main course menus based on German Swiss tradition, with Swiss wines available. We visited at the lowest of the low season, but we and the locals using the restaurant as a meeting point were treated very well. The owners are keen cyclists - hence the name - and would love to share stories about expeditions, but they don't discriminate against those who are less energetic. If you have a car (or bike), the hotel is well placed for visiting the picturesque towns of Stein-am-Rhein and Schaffhausen. We really enjoyed our short stay.
We really enjoyed our night at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and the food in the restaurant was lovely. The room was very clean and comfortable and the price was very reasonable.
We chose this hotel to be outside a city (and near the Rhine Falls and Stein am Rhein) It was in a small town in the countryside but easily reached if you have transport and clearly signposted. It advertises itself asa cycling hotel and can cater for groups in a dormitory as well as renting bikes out from the premises. In an unusually flat part of Switzerland which is still scenic by the Bodensee cycling is a popular pastime. The owner and staff were very friendly and welcoming, the food good quality with a fairly varied menu (specialities of the region included) and the rooms large and comfortable Not all rooms are the same but the ones we had had very small bathrooms - they were perfectly adequate and well fitted but if you need a lot of room you would feel hemmed in. hotel has real charm and character would certainly recommend it.
Ett litet trevligt hotel.Trevliga ägare, god mat, mycket rena rum och nyrenoverade badrum. Bekväma sängar.
Prisvärt. Nära till Zurich, Tyskland och Frankrike.
