We were given the wrong room, not the superior room with balcony that I reserved and paid for. Our room had a stained carpet and more importantly, a dirty soiled couch that stained my gown when I sat on it. This is a stain that is now permanent! I put a bathroom towel on the wet couch and was horrified to see it soaked with a brown liquid. Our request to be moved to another room, (the superior room we had was reserved) was denied. Apparently they were fully booked. Imagine our thoughts during that long unpleasant night. What was that substance on that couch?! Additionally, front office person stated that housekeeping was provided only every second day despite daily housekeeping listed on their website). The large garbage can outside the building overflowing with trash. Managers were not available and could not be reached when I expressed my concerns and they still have not responded to my calls/requests. The front office person and the maintenance personnel were sympathetic to our concerns though they appeared to have no real authority nor could they reach the owner/managers. We were offered a small discount that it no way compensated for our discomfort or covered the cost of my ruined gown. We reserved for 3 nights and checked out after the first. The Port Augusta is a disgustingly dirty hotel with terrible customer service. Stay at your own risk!

The front office lady and gentleman were friendly and pleasant. They told us about breakfast and where to come and times. Lots of parking and easily accessible. Room was big with 2 queen beds, clean and cool with working A/C. Location was perfect as close to dining places and beaches.

We had what seemed to be the only suite with no balcony, outside chairs or table which would have been nice to have like the others. Also, the mat/carpet at the front door had large stains and smelled very bad whether previous people had pets that soiled it was questionable and should have been cleaned and/or thrown out....Also no tv in one bedroom.

This accommodation is within walking distance to the central shopping area of historic Comox. A pool provides relief from the summer heat. The staff was friendly and courteous. The motel is quite old and our accommodation reflected that. Our only window was against an outside wall so window light was limited. The room light was dim and there was a reading lamp on only one side of the bed ( we were a couple). The fridge and TV worked, but the fan for cooler air circulation was noisy and the air blast was forceful. The included breakfast was very adequate, but the space was very small for the number of guests. Without enough tables to accommodate everyone, several people had to stand to eat or go outside or back to their rooms.

Stayed in a 2 brm suite and it was quite nice. Clean, but the coffee pot had not been emptied from previous guests, only 2 glasses, and mattresses were very firm. Breakfast could be better.

This was a very short stay so overall it was fine but the room did have a pretty funky smell when we arrived. We assume it was because the cloth shower curtain did not have a liner so it got very wet when showering. The continental breakfast was fairly limited and the space was exceptionally tight. Again, we were there for less than 12 hours so it got the job done - a place to sleep and shower.
