We loved our stay at the Pattawia even though it was the quiet time before Christmas and the new year. The staff are all lovely but most don't speak or understand much English, we didn't find that a problem and when needed the manager came to our rescue, he was very helpful and fluent in English. Lovely big rooms, huge beds (firm) and everything we needed. Pool fine, sea not so inviting as a bit rough during our stay. Our only gripe would be cold food, we only tried the breakfasts as they were included in our rate, but these put us off trying lunch or dinner. "American" breakfast was eggs cooked different ways with cold hotdog sausages, processed cold ham and salad with mayo. The fried were ok but cold, the scrambled were with onion and the boiled eggs were either hard boiled or virtually raw whatever was asked for e.g. Scrambled eggs on toast would always come with cold sausage salad etc. On the one morning when there were more guests a buffet breakfast was provided, fine but everything stone cold at 8.30. Enough about cold food, we loved our time there in a less touristy area of Thailand, in fact we extended our 4 nights to 6. If there book a scooter or Ken the 3 wheeler jobby from the man outside the Evason to explore the area
