This home is located in a small community in the middle of the Francis Marion Forest. Enjoy the quiet of this forest community while still being close to shopping (20 min.), Isle of Palms and Sullivan's Island Beaches (30 min.), and the heart of downtown Charleston (33 min.). This home was completely remodeled and furnished with 100% new furnishings in 2017. In addition to the 1200 sq. ft. of living space, this house has a 750 sq. ft. furnished screened-in porch that runs the entire length of the house. The house includes tiled baths, hardwood floors, a gas fireplace, and a granite countertop office station equipped with a full-size computer monitor, wireless keyboard/mouse, and printer. The owners live at the back of this 8-acre property and invite tenants to come to the pond at the back of the property to watch the beautiful swans and fish in the pond full of large-mouth bass and sunfish. Tenants are welcome to fish in this pond any time using the bait and tackle the owners have available at the property. In addition, two bikes along with a car bike carrier are available. The bikes can be used to ride anywhere in the Lowcountry, including the trails of the Forest, streets of historic Charleston, and/or the beach communities of Isle of Palms, Sullivan's Island, and Folly Beach. The owners have a bamboo fence-enclosed private swimming pool that the tenants are welcome to use privately during their stay.
The pool is not heated; therefore, it is only open between May 1st and September 30th each year. This home also has a small deck off the screened-in porch where you can sit and relax, grill out on the gas grill, or enjoy a real fire in the fire pit (wood is furnished by the owner).
There's a private patio. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. A Smart television and a DVD player are provided for your entertainment, while complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected. The bathroom has a shower and a hair dryer. Conveniences include a phone, as well as a desk and a microwave.
Enjoy recreational amenities such as a water park and an outdoor pool.

My wife and I stayed at the rental for a week and had a great time. This is our sixth time renting this location, it’s a home away from home. Our adult kids came down Christmas Eve and stayed through the 27th, there was plenty of room for everyone.

Great Property!
The house was nestled on a gorgeous 8 acre property, with all the space for kiddos to run and play. It was perfect distance for our baseball tournament at Shipyard (about 10-15 min) and not too far from the beach, shops and restaurants.

The house was wonderful and so clean. The hosts were the best, and responded to our questions quickly. Upon arrival, our girls LOVED the welcome package (they found the candy), and the waters were nice since we hadn't made it to the store. The living room was so comfortable and perfect for our family. Our girls felt very grown up in their room, with the TV and their own sitting area. The beds were very comfortable, and the bedding was beautiful. The pool on property was so convenient for us. We will definitely be back!

Dans la Foret Guest House is a Gem!!!
There is a reason why this property is highly rated and beloved. The hosts are communicative, attentive and kind. Our family enjoyed how clean and comfortable the house is. We especially loved the large recliner in the family room and the screened in porch is fabulous!!!! We spent hours hanging out on the porch. Outside you have your pick of activities, such as swimming, fishing, barbecuing, playing a game of soccer in the grass, etc. The wild life is gorgeous, with lizards darting around, tiny green frogs hopping about and the many different types of birds, including a wonderful gaggle of geese. The peace, quiet and beauty is just what our family needed. We also enjoyed being close to the beach, Charleston and so much delicious bbq!! We look forward to returning to Dans la Foret Guest House.

Just a dream.
By far, the cleanest and most pleasantly designed VRBO we've ever experienced! Brenda and Wanda are amazing hostesses. A lovely welcome bag made us smile. The cottage is compact but has every single amenity needed. The kitchen was unbelievably well-stocked. The hugemongous screen porch was a fantastic place to gather at night to listen and watch the property go to darkness each evening. Just a pleasure from start to finish.

The property is gorgeous and the house was very nice. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could possibly want. The bed was very comfortable. The grill did not work well when we were there, but the owners tell us they’re going to go buy a new one today. Apparently an otter ate all but one koi. We were not able to fish because the female swan was sitting on a nest, and the male swan was guarding it. The guest bathroom bathtub was so slippery that someone in our party fell. The owners also said they were going to rectify this. Overall, I would highly recommend.

We stayed here for a baseball tournament at shipyard. It’s a close drive with no traffic to the field. Owner lives on property but wasn’t intrusive at all and was very nice. We’ll stay again if we’re ever back in the area.

Peaceful place to stay near Charleston
My family and I stayed here for my son’s baseball team’s tournament at Shipyard Park. It’s an easy 10 minute drive from the house to the park with no traffic. The house is updated nicely and all towels, linens and toiletries are provided. The host was very responsive and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again.

A Visit to Charleston
Our stay was everything we had hoped it would be. The home is beautiful, the property is lovely, and it's only a short commute to Charleston. The thoughtfulness of the hosts was evident everywhere we looked--from the gift bag that greeted us, to the games, books, dog treats, K-Cups, first aid kit, etc. that outfitted the home, their desire to make our visit memorable was clear everywhere we looked. It's certainly a home we will highly recommend, and utilize again the next time we visit.

I love it here.
This is the second time I have stayed here in a year. I came to recover from surgery. The house is comfortable, I could get around with no problems. The master bedroom has doors opening to porch so coffee and morning sounds start the day. Perfect location, everything you need is close. I do love it here and so does the pup.

Wanda and Brenda are wonderful hosts. They are very thoughtful and went above and beyond to make you feel welcome and provide you with everything you need. They even thought of our fur babies. We’ve stayed at this location several times. The host is very friendly and an excellent communicator. My son had a baseball tournament at Shipyard and the two bed/2 bath house was perfect for our family! No time on this particular visit, but last trip the kids fished in the pond on property. Fantastic hideaway location.
