Easily accessible without a vehicle, and great view along river.
Enjoyable stay and would go back, had breakfast one morning but disappointed that it was cold, I was late in getting down (30 minutes before breakfast was finishing) but no excuses for it being cold.
It’s an old fashioned hotel but it still has a charm about it and all the staff were very helpful during my stay.
Very poor tired run down hotel. Felt like the staff have given up on the place.
My dog started to pee in hotel lobby. I made reception aware of this and asked if they had anything for me to clean it up. They gave me toilet roll. I soaked it up the best i could and that was it. They weren't interested where this happened so it could be cleaned properly so it was just left. Disgusting
Three night stay and not once was our room serviced. I had to ask for clean towels on my last day. No apology, it was like that was the norm. Putting the please service my room on the doorhandle made no difference. Only rooms that were serviced was once that were checked out. Seen the cleaners but they just seemed to gather and talk. The other room on the booking was the exact same.
When checking out there was no 'how was your stay?'. i got the impression they knew how our stay would be so didn't want to ask the question. We sat in reception waiting to be collected and not once did they ask any of they guests checking out this question.
Good breakfast though.
Having read reviews left by other travellers I was slightly anxious before we arrived but I really didn't need to be. We paid a good price for two nights and were pretty happy with our stay. The room was comfortable, the bathroom was just fine, the breakfast was good too - not cold like others said. There is no parking onsite but that wasn't an issue for us, we charged the car nearby, parked onstreet and at our family's house. We'll be back to stay at the columba hotel again, as we regularly travel to Inverness and this has been the best balance of cost and comfort we've found so far and we've tried a few places. It's an old building so as long as you're not expecting a five star modern building it'll be just grand for most people
Very few staff, who did what they could given the state of the building and the lack of heating. Gluten free options for vegetarian are limited and the food is brought in from a central kitchen. Definitely not on my return list.
