Newly renovated, uniquely and beautifully decorated 2 bedroom apartment in a Mediterranean Style Villa. Owner lives on the property, and we want to make your stay in Hawaii as enjoyable as possible.
We enjoy having guests from all over the world and want you to feel welcomed 😊.
The unit opens on a spacious screened patio where you can relax and enjoy your meal. The property is not available for events or parties.
One bedroom has a king size bed, the other room has a queen size bed. An additional fold out bed is available if needed.
Close to main highway 130 and East Hawaii's many points of interest, activities and attractions.

Bungalow Attached to main house. Mike was very personable and helpful recommending restaurants and things to do in the area. Thought of everything you’d need. Offered beach chairs, cooler, beach towels etc. would stay there again.

Close to everything
Perfect spot for the 3 of us (wife, me, 17 yo) - 2 beds, 1 bath, secure efficiency apt in a private house. Mike made it easy, everything you want is right there, down to the abundant lilikoi and abiu right outside your door. Close to Pahoa (10 mins), Hilo (20 mins), and easy drive to Volcano and elsewhere. Mike is great to talk to and will stay out of your way when not needed. Great recommendations for places to visit and eat from Mike and his family. Great price for Christmas week as well! They have beach towels, beach chairs, snorkel gear, and more for you to use if you want. Nice and quiet too (except for the rooster and the occasional chicken wars happening in the neighbor's yard). Highly recommend if you're staying on the Hilo side!

This property is a converted garage that is attached to the owner's home - they live in the home with you. This is not a private home. There are many communal areas that they use for storage and everyday use - such as campaign posters. Not really a private place.

Perfect for exploring the volcano and Hilo area. My husband could even have a cigar out back on the relaxing patio after our daily adventure . Mike was friendly and very informative. Highly recommend.

Absolutely charming!
The place is a cozy bohemian place. So much character and charm, two bathrooms, laundry facilities, nice beds, plenty of kitchen supplies, and a coffee maker. Michael is an excellent host! He’s super friendly and welcoming, and happy to talk about the island and give you recommendations. The location may be a little remote for some but honestly, you’re gonna have to drive anywhere you want to go. So if you want a comfortable place with charm in a peaceful location, this is a superb spot. And again, Michael is a gem!

Little paradise......
I knew I had to stay at Michael and Joys property the second I saw the photos of it. What you get is even better than the photos! Such a cool, unique home. Michael is a super nice, helpful guy with a wealth of information about the area. You’ll have your own comfortable private space, but there is a large communal area which is where you’ll probably end up spending most of your time. Plan to stay there, and make sure you plan to spend some time just hanging out there. It’s so relaxing and special.

Great Hilo side location
We had great directions and check in details from Mike. Traveling with our daughter, son in law and 3 yr old the ‘apartment’ was prefect. Very clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable, they thought of everything, We enjoyed hearing how Mike and Joy had built and decorated their property with features from around the world. He provided great dining, family friendly beach and site seeing suggestions. We would certainly return, thank you for the positive experience.

Great value and wonderful hosts. Joy and Mike were both very kind and generous.
Accommodations were great; clean, beds and rooms very good. The only limitation would be for people that want to cook often (as we did), and have a bigger group, as the kitchen is compact. But with their assistance it worked out well.

Beautiful property and wonderful hosts!!
Joy and Michael were amazing and have made a beautiful suite with plenty of room and eye catching island decor! Wish we had allowed more time on the Hilo side before driving the coast to Kona. Joy was wonderful, offering us fresh fruits and vegetables from her garden and the citrus trees. Michael was very nice and had great tips of places to see and to eat at in the area and our excursion up to the volcanoe national park! Will definitely stay here again!!

Very friendly and nice hosts!
We enjoyed to stay in the vacation house . There are two clean, large rooms and kitchen equipped with sufficient items for cooking. Particularly, Joy and Michael were very nice to us and always checked with us what we needed. They gave us a lot fresh vegetables pick up from their garden. We had warm and interested chats daily and felt like at home. We recommenced this vacation home. Thank you very much, Joy and Michael!
