Thanksgiving weekend in Manteo
It was a nice stay and the outdoor pools were closed and the front desk lady gave us another access card to the indoor pool in eldorado. Our room was facing the parking lot but it was quiet. Of coz it would be nicer if facing the lake with higher rate. Pools were okay, have sauna in Manteo and Steam room in Eldorado; however, always out of towels. Just let the staffs know and they are very helpful. The only unpleasant thing was a group of guests living in a Villa next to the putting green, smoking weed. It was also next to the indoor pool entrance and i was going in and out the pool with my kids. It should be a smoke free area, isn't it?

Definitely an older hotel. Hallway carpets on floor 4 had stains throughout. Room is comfortable and clean. Gym is dated but functional. The location can’t be beat.

The day before my reservation I received a message from the hotel offering a room upgrade for $40 .. when I pointed out that my gold status gave me a free upgrade I was told there were no free upgrades available but I could have an upgrade for $30 now …. What ?? What a joke !

Location is stunning with boardwalk and views. The resort fee of $30 for use of pool, gym etc should be waived during the cool season as the pools were cold and dirty. Pillows were very hard and uncomfortable and noise carries between rooms and above

The "good": The relatively "quiet" location & proximity to Kelowna General Hospital is a plus. The lobby area, grounds, and pools are well kept. The not-so-good: The Resort fee PLUS parking fee are ridiculous for a small Resort that is pretending to be a large resort in Hawaii or Vegas. Paying a blanket daily fee (plus taxes) for things that should be "pay-per-use", such as a half-hour wine tasting, Yoga, dance lessons, morning run, 1 hour kayak use is an insult to those of us that will NEVER use these. Pools & spa tubs should be included in the room rate, and then pay-to-park? How the heck are we supposed to get there? Just include parking in the room rate then. Nickel & diming for everything just drove me away from this "resort" for good. The carpets in the public hallways were completely stained & torn, baseboards are beat up (as they are in the room), air vents are filthy, the deck off the room was dirty with leaves, dirty furniture & cobwebs overhead. Not good for a "wanna-be big city resort"...

Nice resort style property on Lake Okanagan. Booked for a last minute one night stay in Kelowna. Clean rooms with friendly staff & free parking. Not very walkable outside of hotel grounds, but there are a number of restaurants/ places to grab a drink on the property. Nice boardwalk along the water.
