Worst Experience! Beware!
The night before we were to arrive to Villa Javiera, the owner sent a message listing check in time and asked if the time was ok. As we were told, a housekeeper was going to let us in and a security guard was on duty every night if we needed assistance. I responded immediately that the check in time did not work because our flight did not land until the evening and going through customs, immigration, grabbing our luggage and driving to the villa were going to take some time. I also asked about airport transportation which he responded at the last minute and we had already made other arrangements at that point.
We arrived at the villa and everything was pitch black. It was late at night and the property owner was not picking up his phone, responding to messages and Homeaway could not reach him. So, we were stranded in Bali late at night, in a dark alleyway, with no housekeeper or security guard as promised to help us. Our driver was going to leave and we quickly booked another hotel (thank God!). The property owner finally responded but we had already driven to another hotel which was non-refundable, checked in, and I was on the phone with my bank disputing the charge. Romain, the property owner was quite snarky and wanted us to pack up our things and return to the villa because the housekeeper was now available to let us in. The audacity. At this point, its about 11pm or 12am. I explained that we already booked another hotel and I disputed the charge with my bank. He was adamant that we needed to now go to the villa and if we didn't, he would note us a no-shows, and we weren't getting our money back. What a horrible experience after a 10 hour flight to Bali. I advise anyone who is interested in the property to not be fooled by the pictures but remember the level of service this property owner provides when spending your hard earned money on this villa. There are way better options.
