It was terrible experience. They make me and my family wait for 90 min to check in and still did not gave us the rooms we booked. Also the other room they gave has broken toilet. They are also not ready to refund the difference. Very unprofessional behavior from staff and very unethical dealing with us.

Charged a daily resort fee. This place is by far a resort. They are also doing construction on this property, which they do not mention. Charge a $15 parking fee to stay at this cheap hotel. No restaurant on site.

The property was under renovation. Very noisy.We asked to have our room cleaned and serviced three times without luck. We had our room cleaned once. I was very disappointed.

Checked in, went to our room, put our things in the room and left. We did not come back until late that night. Discovered stained bed linens. Looked like lipstick and makeup, that was not mine. Our room and bed linens were clean the next day, after going to the front desk. Day 3, we were out for the day. When we returned to our room that evening, our room was exactly like we left it, no one came to tidy the room. Thankfully the man doing the laundry gave us the towels we needed. Then a knock on the door, a lady came to tidy up. The other surprise was a $150 incident fee. When I booked, it said $100, when I inquired , I was told $50/day. Either way it didn’t add up. I would highly recommend changing the beds at this location. Several reviews said they were noisy, but I didn’t think they could be that bad, yes they are. If you are a light sleeper, do not stay here. Every time you move the bed makes noise, mattress is sitting on wood planks, the boards are making the noise.

The stay at the Gates Hotel was a trip full of unexpected things/ experiences. I was able to check in early, which was great, but I quickly realized I was being charged additional fees I was unaware of (a parking fee per night and enmity fees). The hotel was also under construction, of which we were oblivious. We were unaware that roosters were roaming the property, which would make noise early in the morning. Also, we were unaware that the hotel worked closely with its sister hotel next door, and we had to use their location more than once. Lastly, they took 2 hours to deliver towels one night. The greatest thing about this hotel was the shuttle that took you to Duval Street.. but there not the only hotel that provides this service.

Overpriced charged for early departure charged for parking charged 100 a day resort fee. Cockroaches in room , mold on toilet and bathtub this hotel is a cess pool and would never stay here again .

Made the reservation for my daughter, they took a $500 deposit and said she would get it all back in 5 business days after her stay. Now they are charging a resort fee that they didn’t mention in the beginning 3 weeks later she still hasn’t received any of her deposit back.
