We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay in a family room! The room was spacious, clean and well equipped, the front desk staff were always friendly and helpful, there is a wonderful selection of restaurants closeby. We walked mostly everywhere as this is quite central which was fantastic. Highly recommend!

Comfortable Mimaru Stay: Great Location, Friendly
Rooms are very similar to the other Mimaru hotels and of very good quality. Bed linen was very clean. Did notice some stains on the sofas that could be cleaned better. The washer/dryer in each room is very convenient, though its drying capacity is pretty low, so you probably need to wash daily if coming with a family. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Excellent location and connectivity. Lots of dining options as well as supermarket closeby, and a convenience store practically next door. Only a short walk to the Karasuma Oike station of the Karasuma line, which is only a couple of stops away from the main Kyoto station including the Shinkansen. The Karasuma line can also be used to directly reach Nara. Nijo Castle is walking distance. Kiyomizu-dera is also a single bus ride away. Overall, I would stay again.

Loved our stay at Mimaru. The staff were all very helpful. There’s a Family Mart that is really close by and lots of dining options around the area. The room is big enough for our family of 4. I would recommend this place and would love to stay here again in the future.

AMAZING HOTEL! The staff was so friendly and helpful, and were always so nice when we had questions. They offered many recommendations, helped with train routes and also helped ship our luggage. The hotel is also a great walking distance to many places like Nishiki market and the Karasuma-Oike line so we could easily explore. The hotel room was also spacious and fit our family of 6 very comfortably! If you are considering this hotel you should go ahead and book it. You won't regret it!!!

Excellent hotel! Close to everything, Family Mart, train station, Nijo Castle, Nishiki Market, numerous dining options….. super convenient. Safe, clean area and the hotel has a very helpful and friendly staff. They assisted me with filling out paperwork to ship my check-in size bags to the next hotel and even called my hotel in Tokyo to confirm they can receive my bag! Great job Mimaru Kyoto Hotel staff! The only negative is the washer/dryer combo didn’t work very well. The dryer function took several hours and the clothes were still wet despite putting only 2 pieces of clothing in there. But overall I highly recommend this hotel. We will definitely book this hotel again.
