The electricity was out for 5 hours after arrival. Not their fault but it made our stay more difficult. The staff was very supportive giving us a battery lamp and a room which in spite of the lack of electricity was comfortable. Restaurants, stores and gas stations were all closed so after a 9 hour trip the situation was difficult.

It’s a dog friendly stay with bags provided at the back entrance. Also have grass area with the tree at the front, so we can walk our dog. Overall, it is decent stay with good variety breakfast choices. We would come back again. However the motel is a little dated but clean in general. Our dog enjoy it too and snored in the room.

This is the second time I have stayed at this property. I like the convenience of the location. Its close to the 101, stores and cafes. I do appreciate the breakfast options and makes it easier to already have breakfast ready when you are traveling.

Check in was super easy and the staff was friendly. Room was cleaned every single day of my stay and they made sure to also take care of any trash that was in the room. Parking was free for my entire stay- just had to tell the front desk what my make and model my car was and it was good to go. Checkout was super easy. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the state beach, which does take you through a neighborhood, but it was a nice walk. The main street of Carpinteria was also a short 15 minute walk from the hotel, which is very nice. Breakfast was good, it was always stocked, and was decently tasty. Some cons: the TV was stuck on volume level 6 and could not be changed during my stay, even with the provided remote. My room did not have a safe in it, which considering the price point and the fact I have had rooms in the past at lower price points which provided them, was a miss in my book. I would book this hotel again, with my experience and taking into mind the pros and cons.

Hotel is your typical Holiday Inn. Breakfast was okay. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Area could be better. It’s felt safe at the hotel, but surrounding area was a little sketchy.

Stunning hotel in the absolute best location.
Hotel is stunning. Staff was super helpful and kind. Pool area got hammered. Nobody picked up the glassware and wet towels on the ground of the pool area. We stayed in an oceanfront room before, and I believe I slept great. We stayed in a standard double queen room and the beds seemed kinda hard and springy. Overall a great stay.

I ordered a room with a king bed. When I ordered the room it stated “pet friendly “. We have a “well behaved” dog. They changed our room because they said it “was not pet friendly. I’m 74 years old! Still working EMR. The room they gave us had a chair which felt like I was sitting in a hole. It , was worn out with little or no stuffing in the couch. Very uncomfortable. Staff was not friendly!! The room was clean, but I was there to regenerate and for the comfort! The comfort wasn’t there!
