We stayed at the apartments for three nights during our stay in Madrid. Overall we had fairly mixed feelings about the property and we felt the room photos listed didn’t correspond with the room we were given.
Pros:
Location for us was a real bonus, directly opposite the castle and within easy walking distance of all attractions and metro.
The service from the front desk was outstanding. We were made to feel very welcome and Michaela was very knowledgeable about the city and always keen to help us as much as possible.
Cons:
The room itself was well appointed and had lovely fixtures and fittings. The downside was that both small windows overlook an internal area so a lack of natural light. Also, there was a rather unpleasant, musty smell in the apartment that seemed to be coming from the bathroom drain.
The other issue was the noise. Late at night, we could hear music coming from a bar or nightclub until around 2am. We were on the 2nd floor so higher floors might not be affected.
To be fair to the property, we didn’t share our concerns with them given we weren’t staying very long and the front desk lady had been so helpful. However, it would have been nice for the cleaning staff to be proactive in identifying and reporting the problem.
