From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm welcome and professionalism of the hotel staff. Every team member I encountered went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The check-in process was smooth and efficient and they let me to check-in earlier. Throughout my stay, the staff consistently showed genuine care, whether it was promptly assisting with requests, providing local recommendations, or simply greeting me with a smile. What stood out most was the personalized attention—I truly felt valued as a guest, not just a booking number. Their dedication and attentiveness made all the difference and turned an ordinary hotel stay into an exceptional experience. Lovely quaint hotel with attention to details. We wanted a place in Makati that was not crowded and 1898 surpassed our expectations. Our family stayed for 3 nights. All of the staff were courteous and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Really nice lobby and hotel rooms appear to be very modern/upgraded recently. Very friendly staff. Note: this is in the redlight district, I was not familiar with the area and didn't see this in the reviews and only learned about it from a local. This didn't matter to us much, we basically stayed at the hotel or took a car to other locations. We did go to the Filling Station - American style deli, that was a fun experience with decent & decently priced food. Only negative - they only heat the jacuzzi when asked and even then it doesn't get to American standards of warm/hot.

Good area if you’re looking to party with free lance workers. A lot of clubs around. I didn’t do enough research and had kids I highly don’t recommend with kids. As an adult if that’s what you indulge in it’ll be perfect for you. Definitely not kid friendly area.
