The outside of the property is very nice, with an outstanding view of Otsego Lake. The interior of the room was clean, but the decor was dated. The staff was initially heplful. Our first night, my wife was awakened about 12:30 am by loud voices coming from one of the neighboring rooms. The next morning, the ones we suspected left. However, on the second night,at about 1 am it started all over again, this time from a room on the upper floor. This time, it also woke me. After about 20 minutes, I had had enough and walked upstairs and knocked on the door. They didn't answer, but the loud voices stopped. Once I returned to our room, they started again, so I called the on site, after hours person and apparently woke them, They knew who the problem people were and went to get them to be quiet. They didn't come by to see us. The next morning we decided to cut our visit short by one day. When we went to the office to check out early, they didn't ask why and told us they couldn't refund our last night. Probably won't recommend to other people.

My family and I stayed in the Lake View Motel for 2 nights so we could visit the Baseball HOF. We read the good reviews online, so we were pretty surprised at how wrong they were almost immediately. First off, the staff is nice, and does the best they can with what they have. After our pleasant check in, it all went down hill. The motel is old and not updated. Upon entering the room, we all tracked in gravel onto the matted carpet from the parking lot which means you are stepping on small, sharp rocks throughout your stay. It’s summer and the room was musty and hot because there’s no central AC - only a small window box AC in the wall which was not on when we arrived. Any time there’s an unventilated room, that is not air conditioned or does not have a way to mitigate moisture in the air means that it has mold. Whether you can see it or not, you are breathing it in. A moisture detector, mold detector or a humidistat would work to check it - that must be the musty smell. Because of the moisture, the room carpet was damp the entire stay, and none of the towels dried after being hung up in the bathroom after use. This is an old motel so the staff cleans what they can but they can only do so much. They also give you 1 key which doesn’t work on the deadbolt so the room isn’t very secure. Finally, the location is a 6 mile drive north of town, which is kind of far and is deer riddled. We didn’t go to the beach across the street but the view on the lake is lovely.

My husband and I enjoyed a quick anniversary getaway to Cooperstown and our stay at the Lake View Motel. The view of the lake was breath taking (especially in the morning). The staff was welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed walking across the street to the motel's private docks to sit and take in the beauty of the area. Walking into the room it smelt freshly cleaned and looked very cleanly. The king room was large and comfortable. We will definitely be back for another getaway!

This was cute little spot right on the water! Rooms were average but the staff was very kind and friendly. We stayed here because it was close to coperstown and if we were in the area again we would definitely stay there again

We only stayed one night, the desk clerk told us it was getting to the end of the season. It was very quiet and beautiful, the view of the lake is truly wonderful. It’s about a 5-10 min ride into Copperstown, not bad at all.
