For the price, Hotel Alerion was fine. It was very clearly in the budget category, though, with threadbare carpeting in the stairs leading up to the lobby, and rather old bathroom fixtures and undersized shower stall. After 11 p.m., guests must use an access code to get into the hotel. I assume this means there is no front desk staff, but I'm not certain. As a solo traveler, I didn't like the idea of having no one at the front desk; it feels a bit unsafe. My room was small with no amenities (no coffee maker, for example). However, it was in the lowest price category. Maybe the other rooms are better. The bed was comfortable. Hotel's location is convenient; directly across from the train station and relatively pleasant 10-15 minute walk to the cathedral and oldest parts of the city.
