Hot and bed was uncomfortable
Was supposed to stay at the hotel for 3 nights. I canceled 1 night before I got there due to a family event I couldn’t miss but I canceled my second night after my first nights stay because of how terrible it was. I checked in about 12:30am and was exhausted, otherwise, I would not have stayed. I got into my room and it was 80 degrees and humid. They offered a box fan stating that all the AC had been turned off “for the season”, this was mid/end October and still hitting 80+ degrees during the day. I slept with the window open and fan running full bore trying to cool it down. It did finally drop to about 74 degrees but then it was very muggy and my sheets were damp from having the window open. Bed was also uncomfortable and bathroom was very small. I barely slept that night.

I love this place. I’m a return customer and I’ve been to lots of hotels around this area. This is definitely the best place to stop and it’s a very reasonable price. Staff or super everything about it is great.

Only one elevator was working our entire stay. I told the staff and on each occasion was told both were working properly. The second elevator was on the 4th floor the entire time. They did not take the issue seriously.

Every stay has been great.
I have stayed at the Hotel Lotus Merriam many times when I'm in southwestern KC. It is an older hotel, so yes the fixtures are older, but everything is clean. I've never had a dirty room, no mildew on the bathroom tile, and I've never seen a bug. It's not super noisy and the beds are comfortable to me. The workout room is clean and has just enough of what you need. This is the first time I've brought my family and we enjoyed the breakfast and pool. The location is great. It's right off I-35 and there are many food options nearby. I will continue to stay here in the future when I'm on this side of the city.

Heat was in the middle of being switched, so it was still cold. Chose this hotel for the hot tub only to find out the day of check in it’d been broken for a while. Had to get out own towels replenished. Pool was not warm.

When checking in the sign said they were switching over to heat and they could offer a space heater if needed. It was 80 degrees outside and I didn’t think there would be an issue as far as needing heat. What we weren’t told is that they turned all the air conditioners off and were switching the hotel to heat only on the hotel. I asked for a refund , they told me they could give me a fan, the room temperature was 77 and the air conditioner only blew warm air. I told them I wanted a refund because we were not told about the air conditioning. Finally we were told they cancelled the charge but couldn’t give a receipt for the refund. I have stayed at this hotel before but each time it gets worse. We will NOT be back to a hotel that shuts off the air conditioning.

This hotel is nice. The rooms are spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was very good. There were eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, pancakes, yogurt, etc. Unfortunately i would not stay here again because i want to be able to decide for myself if i need heat or ac. At this hotel you can't. They apparently switch the rooms from ac to heat depending on the season and they were switching rooms to heat only. Fortunately my room had not been switched so i was still able to have my ac so it would be cool enough for sleeping.
