The toilet barely flushed, cobwebs on light fixtures. Hair in shower, frayed carpet, stains on carpet, mattress was slanted, smelled musty, everything is outdated, found beer bottle caps on the headboard. The pictures on the website are deceiving. The lady at the front desk was nice though.

What a little gem of a property this is, in a most unlikely place! I was searching for something nice near Charleston, but outside the ratrace and concrete jungle of interstate hotels, and am happy to say I found just that. The area is full of natural beauty and steeped in history, and the town has everything anyone would need for a short stay. The highway in front is not heavily traveled, and there is a buffer of woods in the back. This was truly a lucky find and I will visit again!

In need of an update.
Best option in area, but really in need of updating. Hallway very loud due to flooring floating laminate. Took some time to get room cooled down. Carpet was filthy...feet left black prints in tub. Upating needed! Breakfast was best part of stay, not bad at all.

Several need-to-know things about this property: -Cannot pre-pay for the room, so you earn no rewards for selecting this hotel. -They don't mention that they automatically hold an extra $150, the only way I knew this was an e-mail that came in several hours after check-in. -The breakfast appears to be whatever they can cook in a microwave, would recommend skipping breakfast. Room was dated with an AC that was hardly able to keep up with the temperature outside. When I went down to get extra sheets and pillows for pull-out sofa I was handed a flat sheet and blanket (no pillow or fitted was offered or given when requested). Room appears to only get a quick cleaning between visits and the pull-out never apparently gets cleaned ... If you need a quick place to sleep, this may work; However, there's nothing nearby and nothing to look at except all of the work trucks in the parking lot (which seems to be their main clientele).

This is an older hotel, but it is well maintained and clean. There is no elevator so you must carry you luggage upstairs if you are on the second floor. Charleston is 40 minutes away.

Room 255 was dirty, the bathroom vent was caked with dust, trash left behind the night stand, and a dangerous metal piece was sticking out from the bed frame that I didn't see and cut my leg on. Went down to get clean towels and there were none clean in the linen closet, so she had to go get towels from a vacant room which I had to split between 2 other people waiting for towels. I've stayed here several other times with no problems, but after this experience, we will not be hack.
