A little out of town but that suited me perfectly for the reason I was there. The setting and gardens are beautiful and the rooms are lovely. Quiet, clean and well equipped. If traveling with a dog there is a specified, fenced, off lead area which is just fantastic. This was my third stay and I will definitely stay again.

The hotel kindly stored our bags while we explored, and we popped into Maggie’s, one of the many charming cafes surrounding the area. Our room was lovely—tucked up in the eaves, it featured a large, comfortable bed, hot drink facilities, and a gorgeous ensuite complete with luxurious toiletries and fluffy towels. For dinner, we headed to the Octagon, a perfect spot with its many bars and restaurants. We enjoyed a delicious meal and a relaxing drink in this vibrant setting, just a short walk from the hotel. When we returned, we closed the skylight, making the room so dark and cozy that we slept for hours—absolutely perfect! For this price point, it was an excellent experience overall.
