Family owned is way better than corporate owned!!
This hotel is family owned and operated, they go out of their way to make your stay the best experience. The place was spit shined from the decking, building and room, fully furnished with everything you would need to stay a day or a month. 2nd floor and up, you can sit on the balcony and watch the sun come up in peace and solitude. Has to be 1 of the friendliest, cleanest, comfortablest and relaxating places i can ever remember staying at in all my years of traveling. Highly recommend leaving big corporate hotel and supporting this family owned business.

From the time we booked, all through our stay and checkout, we had a great experience with the Darlington Inn. Location is perfect, right across from the 2nd Avenue Pier and the beach. Staff is super friendly and helpful. I can’t wait to go back and visit this little gem!

This is a great facility if you're not the fussy type, location is good and bad, but it's nothing they have any control over, Everything was spotless clean, they called us as soon as our room was available and they offered to shuttle us downtown on golf carts. This little place will be our go to in the future

I took my sister to the beach for her 60th birthday and we booked with Darlington due to the positive reviews, and now I get to leave one. The location is perfect because it’s literally across the street from the beach and Wicked Tina (a bar/restaurant). Also, the boardwalk starts adjacent to the motel. We did not use the car one time and walked to eat, shop, have cocktails and listen to live bands. You won’t need a car unless you want to leave the beach itself. The room was sparkling clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. I usually wake up during the night but I slept through both nights we were there. The ocean view was extraordinary and we were able to people watch from our balcony! It is very quiet at night. I think next time we come I may want to check out one of the cottages! Location is perfect ❤️. The owner’s son checked us in and he was super friendly and answered all our questions. I can’t believe I forgot his name but he was so kind to us and personable. My sister and I tend to babble alot and he handled it like a champ! He was awesome.

Don't judge a book by its cover
Prior to us arriving we received a call letting us know that we could check in early if we wanted to. They also verified that they would be able to accomodate our request for a lower level room, which we requested because we were informed that there are no elevators as part of our booking confirmation. Upon arriving at the inn you could tell that it is part of old Myrtle Beach, but don'tjudge a book by its cover! The staff at the desk was extremely friendly and personable, and he was able to answer any questions that we had. The building is well taken care of and provides the comforts needed for a stay in Myrtle Beach. The room was clean and spacious, and the beds were comfortable. A huge perk to these rooms is that they have a full size refridgerator and a kitchenette! We would definitely stay here again, and recommend anyone looking for a room in Myrtle Beach to consider it as well.

I have never felt more like a VIP than when I stayed at the Darlington. I was contacted the day before and arrangements were made for my early arrival. When I got to the hotel, I was met by members of the staff who made me feel like family. They assisted with my check-in and made sure I had everything I needed for my stay. I enjoyed it so much, I extended for one more day. I have stayed in several hotels at Myrtle Beach, but not one had a better staff. I can't wait for my next stay there!!!!
