We did not like walking through a tent while diners were eating. The bed in the Johnson room is very uncomfortable. A mirror in the bedroom instead of a picture. Having a mirror only in the bathroom is very inconvenient for guests. There should be a mirror in the actual sleeping area. Did appreciate the parking that was available only for guests.

This is an older hotel in the historic section of Newton. If you are tired of the standard chain hotels and are looking for something quaint and interesting, this is a good choice. The restaurant is pricey, but has an interesting menu. They don’t serve breakfast, but offer some walkable recommendations. The list needs to be updated. Two of the restaurants are closed.

Staff was excellent! Quaint and clean rooms Building built in 1783. Rocco Resteraunt fabulous food and service. Bar staff also fabulous! Would definitely return when in the area!

The Brick has the feeling of an old fashioned inn. The room we had was quite small, but big enough, the floors bit wavy, but even enough. Even with tho atop the very busy Rocco’s restaurant it was perfectly quiet. As a historic building I understand there being no elevator, but the hotel would benefit from one.

Unfortunate for me.
While climbing to the 3rd floor, it was a quaint observation that you could clearly see the whole building lean. Opening the door, it was wonderful to feel the AC already cranking. The location couldn’t be better. The room was mostly clean. There were spiders on the walls & on the bed. There were 4-5 noticeable hairs throughout that were there upon arrival. It wasn’t possible to close the window facing the road completely. In my life, I’ve never tried to rest on a less comfortable bed. I had no idea a bed could be that lumpy & unfunctional, let alone be expected to pay to sleep in it. I have reasonably wide shoulders, but I still couldn’t turn to face the direction of the shower head without the curtain and the wall touching both. It was also odd that the shower head is in the corner of the shower, shooting to the side and over most guests. If anyone was at the check-in podium after 10pm last night or there this morning, I’d have had this talk with them. By 9:30, I was well-prepared to tell someone I wasn’t staying. Also, the hotel’s website says nothing about the fact that the town’s most highly rated restaurant that they happen to be attached to is currently closed for refurbishment. For this specific trip, it would have been a deciding factor. Some positives. But overall, never again for me.

They are not open for breakfast. No coffee available. They are open for lunch at 11pm which is about the time someone is at the front desk. There is no phone in my room. I called the hotel from my cell phone to find out when the restaurant is open. The floor in my room is slanted, very annoying. I had to turn the A/C off because it rattled so loud it kept me awake. The TV is difficult to operate. There were two remotes and the one for the TV didn’t work because it didn’t have batteries in it. The temperature of the shower water fluctuates between hot and cold without me touching it. Other than this the room is fine!

We understood that is very old building , which gave us some nice filling of the History , but in the unit #303 was NO FRIDGE , NO EVEN SMALL TABLE , AND JUST ONE ARM CHEAR , AND NOT EVEN ONE CHEAR FOR SECOND PERSON ! ? ! And on the front desc no booklets , no any info about what is around hotel , like some point of interest . Also - THERE IS NO ANY SIGHN OUTSIDE ON THE STREET , WITH THE NAME OF HOTEL ! Which made us circling around blocks to find out where is that hotel , and where is the entrant , till we so the waitress from restaurant , and ask her
