The location is what you are paying for. The staff were all pleasant and accommodating. The hotel needs an update with the room having visible wear and tear. The elevators took forever to come. And they were all crowded especially coming down to the lobby. The thing that bothered me most was no ice machine on each flr. And the flr that i was told to go to the machine was broken. I had to go to the lobby to get ice from the reception. So that was an inconvenience. All and all The hotel itself was convenient because of the location. I booked this hotel as a staycation for my daughter and I as we were seeing a Broadway show. Easily walkable to times square area. And loads of food options. The hotel does have a restaurant although we did not use this option. It looked like it had reasonable prices.

We picked the location because it was near the theater and the price was decent for a last minute booking, but upon check in the front desk wasn’t very helpful. After getting to our room we had limited time to get ready and the light in the bathroom kept flickering it wasn’t work it to stop and ask for another room since we were in a rush but it was frustrating to use a flickering mirror light when doing skincare and makeup. Everything else was fine

This is a busy, no-frills, affordable hotel in an excellent location. Room was clean and efficient. King size bed was very comfortable. No street noise on 12th floor. The rooftop bar/restaurant has been closed for months with no re-opening date per the front desk. This is a great place to sleep in NY if you plan to be out and about.

Great Location
A little disappointed at the size of the room but as we were hardly in there, we managed. Nowhere to put our luggage though. We stayed 3 nights before going on to stay with relatives in Michigan so having 2 large suitcases plus hand luggage was awkward. However, the room was lovely and clean, well maintained and bed very comfy. Shower excellent & good complimentary toiletries. Reception staff very welcoming, kind & helpful. Always a smile & happy to help. Lots of lifts so no long wait. Complimentary freshly made cookies & chilled bottles of water available on request. Excellent location 2 blocks from Times Square & just a little further to Madison Square Gardens. Short walk to bus tour routes. We have enjoyed our stay here and would be happy to recommend.

I know space is a premium in Manhattan. So, ok, the room was small. It was tidy. But, check-in was an hour long process. Elevators - let’s just say I wouldn’t have used them if I didn’t know they were the DoubleTree’s elevators. Nasty. Pieces missing. Just dodgy looking. The room furniture - it screams IKEA, so affordable but just not what I expected. Shower was nice. Sink was nice but the bathroom shelving …. Let’s just say, that was not thought out. Otherwise, location, location, location.
