The property is has a perfect location Downtown Brooklyn with all the basic services in walking distance. However, my sleep was affected on Monday morning by some constant drilling which I later learnt was from work being done by the MTA in developing the train line.

Staff was accommodating especially with a need for an ADA room. Room was nice, clean, and comfortable. Not a fan of the $35 mandatory fee in order to use it at their restaurant. It kind of forces you to eat there rather than explore local breakfast spots.

Let me start with the positives: The room was wonderful with two beds and a clean bathroom. The location is perfect and my kids and I walked all over Brooklyn conveniently from the hotel. We had a small issue with our air conditioning that was fixed quickly! The not so good: our room became extraordinarily dusty during our stay and housekeeping did not vacuum once - it was not a good site to return to in the evenings. Only a few staff members acknowledged us. It was strange walking into a hotel and the staff at the front desk looked at their computers and not up to give a greeting. That was a weird first for me and I didn’t like it. I would stay here again despite my concerns.

We stay at the Brooklyn Hilton every time we visit. This is the first time we were disappointed. (1) One of the two bathroom lights was out when we arrived. (2) The panel on the door from which the bar lock and door lock emanate had a crew stripped and was loose, sometimes no allowing the door to close and had to be replaced while we were there. (3) This servicing of the rooms every OTHER day is deplorable. We pay the same daily rate (or more) as we did in the past and we are entitled to come back to a fresh room. This is becoming a pattern at some other hotels and makes visiting much less attractive. (4) There is some type of new TV remote which is NOT intuitive and we needed to call for a tech to come explain it to us. How about a MANUAL to enable us to work the TV without the guesswork? Overall, not good.
