The room we booked reeked of weed and the air conditioning was broken. We were downgraded to a smaller room and that wasn’t any better. There are stains on the linens and booger on the wall. True story. The TV didn’t stay on because the cable going into it was frayed beyond repair. There was only one elevator working so getting up and down to the upper floors took a long time

Staff are super friendly. But the room is so dirty. The mattress is on a wood floor platform which is so dirty and sticky. The staff told me that I could park at this garage for 30 percent off (she even typed in to my Waze) but the next day neither the garage nor the new front desk person would acknowledge this discount.

Very worn hotel. The air conditioning was so loud we needed to get moved room, which ended up being the same. There was an even on our last night and the building was shaking with loud music until the early hours with the bar and roof closed to guests. Poor sleep and very damaged/shabby interior of rooms. This is more of a nightclub vibe than expected. Really disappointed. And a resort fee on arrival!

this was my first time in New York and i loved it mainly because of the location of this hotel. the subway was a short walk away to get to the main stations, plus the shops around are great and easy to get to just by exploring. this hotel is near hudson yards which was beautiful too!!

I mostly enjoyed this hotel. I really liked how walkable it was to so many things. I say my biggest gripe about my stay was that the hotel room didn't have a fridge. It's a way to deter eating in the rooms. We had to be very mindful of portions and what we ate when we ate out. There's a communal kitchen area somewhere in the building but we didnt want to ask where it was. Just a very odd thing I've never come across in a hotel stay. Secondly, it drew a younger crowd, probably the main factor being the rooftop bar. I'm in my mid 30s and it just wasn't our vibe. We went up to use our complimentary drink cards and decided to go right back down to the room; it just looked kind of shoddy and tacky, not well put together in order to enjoy. It felt more like an outdoor bar than rooftop. The rooftop parts you could enjoy were through a threshold and near the edge of the building. Just not what we were expecting. There was one night, a Friday night if I'm not mistaken, I was awoken to what sounded like a party right next door to my room. I immediately was taken back to college. It took me a little bit to fall back asleep. That night was the only night with an issue. At check-in, I was shown a sheet with the overall hotel info; there is a kitchen but no free meals. Like I said, I still very much enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel for sure!

Hotel reservation says 22 dollar resort fee. charged a 28 dollar resort fee. The front counter person did her job but was difficult to understand talking really fast. The whole building is more a night club than a hotel, even now as I right this my room is shaking from the rooftop event. And the room. There was dust bunnies all over floor and counter, there is. Scratches scuffs and broken light switches, burn. Mark on the wall. Lobby smelled like pot. Glad this is just for one night. It certainly is not a 4 star anything

Well situated for our events in the area and close to public transit, however underwhelming overall for the price. Mediocre service, broken bathroom door and poor housekeeping. Our room was right next to the housekeeping closets so there was tons of noise and commotion at very inconvenient times. Probably won’t stay again.

Smooth check in, staff was friendly. My booking included free breakfast and OMG it was absolutely delicious; I ordered the Shakshuka an orange juice and coffee. Staff was attentive and friendly. I didn’t bring a pet, but I was glad to see the pet fee is affordable at $10 per night. Bed and pillows were comfortable, room had free water and a small fridge—very convenient. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

I paid in full up front for 8 days. When inshowed up i got charged another 250 dollars for something i couldnt understand the woman explaining it tonme and had luggage ans was tired. There was a party on the roof 3 nights that i wasnt allowed to go to. And when there wasnt a party i wasnt allowed access. Room was smaller than expected from pictures, with lights that did not work.

As it was my first time booking at this hotel, I quickly discovered that it would be my go-to place for future stays. The welcoming atmosphere, vibrant vibe, convenient area, tranquility, and location are simply the best. Martin (I hope I spelled his name correctly) was exceptional in explaining everything, making us feel at home. There's so much more to say, but to put it briefly: just go there. This is undoubtedly the best hotel in NY, and I will definitely be returning. Thank you Silena and Martin for the hospitality 😊

Bad Timing for a stay, but the staff was great
We have stayed several times at the Selina Chelsea. While the staff were very good, the rooms are starting to show a little disrepair since our last stay. The sliding door our bathroom would get stuck, making it difficult to get in and out. The HVAC unit in our friend's room made loud noises all night. However, our biggest problem was related to an event that was booked in the lobby/restaurant/bar the night we stayed there. The event was for a popular social media personality and Hip-Hop musician. It was so crowded (spilling out onto the street), that it was very difficult to enter the hotel. Once through the crowd and into our rooms, the noise and music from the event kept us all awake until very late (after 2 am). The staff was very apologetic the next morning and said that they would give us a credit for 50% of our room costs. We hope to coordinate this refund through Hotels.com, but it is not clear on the app how to get the refund.
