Wonderful Retreat
If ever there was a place that gave you peace......it was this beach house. From the time mom and I walked in we knew we chose the right place.
We arrived on a cold, rainy and windy day. The house was already warm and inviting. Our other friends and family arrived the next day and were equally impressed with the location and decor. Every room nicely done and the beds were top of the line. Everyone slept well.
There was 10-12 of us yet everyone had there own privacy. When it was time to eat the home provided a huge kitchen fully equipped and a dining room that was able to seat all of us.
Things to be aware of:
You will have to supply your own toiletries (toilet paper, soap etc.) for your guests.
There was no instructions on the refrigerator or anywhere (as indicated by Elliot’s Realty) on how to operate things (heater, pool/hot tub, etc.) or how to leave the house on checkout like most rentals.
When calling management with questions and concerns, they were unable to answer all questions mostly due to the recent renovations.
-we did not have a WiFi code for guests until the night of day 2 when we found it on a piece of art work.
-we were unable to use the hot tub because it would not get hot. We found out later that it needed something (gas or something). No one notified us the problem was being resolved. One of my guests just happen to see the pool guy fixing it. By then, it was too late.
-Two guests rooms were freezing because there was no instructions on operating the upstairs heating control. Apparently there’s a method to balancing the heat because there’s a loft upstairs where the thermostat is located. The thermostat was being fooled by the heat coming from downstairs and would switch off causing the upstairs to be 20 degrees colder.
-one upstairs guests door had issues with the lock. The knob was offset and any slight turn would lock the door. Guests would either be locked in or locked out.
It is my hope that these issues have been fixed as we reported them because the property itself is beautiful. For what we paid, I do wish there could’ve been a little compensation or an apology for the inconvenience. The owner should be aware of mis-steps by management that may hinder future rental.
