The Centennial is a great place to stay. The location is fantastic, there are so many places that you can easily walk to from this hotel. The pool was great and the restaurant had great service and food. The only thing I would have changed would be the cleanliness of the room. The bathroom had mildew buildup and some surfaces didn’t appear to be wiped down. This would not deter me from staying here again, but it is something that can be improved.
The only positive to this property is the staff. They were friendly and kind. Serving staff in the restaurant, and the 3 people I dealt with behind front desk. BUT everything else about this property is gross. Filthy rooms, carpets feel wet and have stains everywhere. Our room smelled like a root cellar from a house built in the 40s. Shower and tub were broken and by broken i mean nipples ripped off in the shower and when trying to run the bath for my son the shower button was broken and blasted me in the face hard. I think I have a concussion. I made my son wear shoes for the duration of our stay because I'm not sure what was happening there, but I just dont have time for a foot fungus right now. Coffee was actually decent but only 1 pack of coffee mate and one sugar for the pot. There was a serious humidity problem and the beds felt wet....oh and we were told the hot tub was down the hall...it sure was, and it was full of rocks and algae and no water. Paint peeling. Overlook hotel feeling without the class and well...no cool ghosts either. The food in the restaurant was good, but when trying to use the ladies rest room there was a sign on the door saying "out of order, please use lobby". When i got to the lobby, the ladies restroom said "out of order". SO if you dont have a room there, I guess you are using the parking lot ladies! All in all its a big thumbs down.
We had never stayed anywhere with a “good” rating but thought we would give the Heritage Inn a try. The approach to a very dated looking property through a crumbling parking lot had us on guard but the friendly greeting and fast processing at check in buoyed our hopes for a good stay. Our key cards did not work thus, with anticipation building, we gained entry with the new cards to discover a room that appeared to be, you know…good. The smell that greeted me announced “this room is clean but could tell a few stories”. I’m ok with that. I am not, as my wife self-identifies, a hotel snob. A clean, safe, quiet room makes me happy. A great sleep on a good mattress followed by a tasty free breakfast for two the next morning made me happier.
The room was clean and free breakfast delicious. However, the pool was mediocre at best and the hot tub was out of order and needed a deep cleaning. Also, our shower head needed replacing. Overall, it was worth maybe $150 per night, not the $220 that we paid.
Very shabby, there was a musty smell in the room. One of the reasons we booked this property was for the hot tub. Of course, when we arrived it was not in operation and looked like it had not been for quite sometime.
Our stay was a great, our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Our room window looked in on the indoor pool and it looked so inviting, I went for a swim. We did get coupons for breakfast. Choice of eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast OR oatmeal and fruit. There were some details that made it less than perfect: a gaping hole in the bathroom counter that was suppose to hold tissue, towels were a bit skimpy, but nothing that dampened our stay. All the people were great! Dar in the restaurant and Dillon at the desk.
