Disappointing Experience at DoubleTree Hotel - Universal Studios, Orlando
I’ve stayed at this DoubleTree hotel multiple times without any issues, but my recent experience was highly disappointing. I checked in on January 6th and checked out on January 10th, but on January 10th, I realized I had forgotten my nice parka coat of $375 in the hotel. I either left it in the room or in the lobby around noon while checking out.
I immediately approached the front desk, valet staff, and security, but I received little help. I was told that the lost-and-found process takes a while, but no one bothered to check right away or even offer to review the cameras. Instead, I was simply asked to leave the details and assured they would “look into it,” but nothing came of that. I was told the security check could take up to two hours, but with my flight to catch, I had to leave empty-handed.
What really disappointed me was the lack of urgency or care shown by the staff. This was a simple matter to address, but they didn’t seem to take it seriously. I’ve never had an issue like this in all my previous stays, and it’s a shame that my experience this time left me feeling ignored and frustrated. I sincerely hope they improve their handling of lost items in the future.
