I was going to stay a few days here but had to leave. Even the guy at the check in asked why I was staying at their hotel. Shared toilet stalls was very tiny and I am 5'4" the bathroom had black mold on the wall the neighborhood had homeless encampments trash all over the streets homeless people walking around half naked cats everywhere guys selling stolen merchandise on the street I smelled like tatami flooring when I woke up. They did have an Onsen which was pretty good I was the only one using it. I lost money on this hotel since there is a no refund policy but I paid for a lesson learned never go to a one star hotel!
There were no towels, the women's restroom was a floor above where we were staying. We got haggled by a random man as we were walking to the hotel. Not sure what he said but it was not polite. The room was exactly as the picture so can't complain about that, as I knew what I was getting into, my major complaint was the lack of towel so I was unable to shower. With the women's restroom being so far away it was incredibly inconvenient. At least there was an elevator.
Staying there was an amazing experience!
cheap, clean and very friendly staff...

Simple, basic, cheap
Word of advice: book a NON-SMOKING room. These rooms are so much nicer than the regular, smoking rooms. Also, note that you get what you pay for. This is a bare-bones place to sleep. It's safe, clean, and secure, but it ain't the Ritz, let me tell you.
I'm used to small rooms and low-cost guest houses, and usually enjoy them. This place, however, was bad. There was only 1 bathroom for the entire floor (38 rooms)--3 urinals, 3 stalls (one a squat), and it was in bad shape. The doors were broken, and the stalls so small, my knees pressed against the door. There are only 3 showers for entire hotel. Those were only available from 15:00-18:00, and they charged for towels. There were zero amenities (excluding some vending machines on the first floor), and check-out time was 09:00, not 11:00 as listed in their advertisement.
The room didn't come with a private bathroom though the listing clearly said it has private shower and toilet.

You get what you pay for
This place is a little rough around the edges but you get what you pay for.
The hotel is located in a shadier area of town but it is close to Shin-Imamiya and the subway Station (Dae-imatsu or something like that). Staff in the residence was nice enough and the rooms are just large enough to lay in with your bag and not much else. The hotel is not as clean and cheerful as I would've liked it to be but for $20 a night there's nothing to complain about. The pillow they give you is quite uncomfortable and the provided mattress isn't very comfy either. My biggest complaint was with the noise from dripping water from all the AC Units and you could hear people in the hallway quite clearly which lead to bad sleep at night/early morning. The shower unit was very clean and nice but there was only one. I didn't have problem with waiting to take a shower but the hotel wasnt busy when I stayed.
I would stay again if I was backpacking through Japan but I wouldn't recommend it to those who are here just for a couple of weeks and are looking for an affordable comfortable experience.
